Should I Abandon Patreon in 2022?

As you all probably know, I am planning to release less content starting in January 2022.  To keep this Patreon going, I was planning to host my video library somewhere secure and embed links to the films here.  That would address a complaint I get fairly often, which is that the process of selecting from a list of films and receiving transfers is too confusing & cumbersome for some people.  Some just want to make their pledge and watch some vore without any additional thinking or waiting.  There's nothing wrong with feeling that way.  I'm also getting more and more tired of the transfer process.

Finding a site to host the videos is not going well.  I've spent the last few weeks uploading my stuff to Vimeo.  The content restrictions are looser than YouTube, but they're also much less forgiving if you do step over the line.  One of my uploads triggered a response, and they completely wiped out everything I'd uploaded without warning and deleted my account, with no apparent recourse possible for me.

Again, the only reason I'm exploring video hosting options is to keep this Patreon afloat.  But is Patreon really the best way?  Do you guys honestly prefer using Patreon instead of sites like Gumroad or Clips4Sale?  Some of you may be concerned with what shows up on your credit card statements.  I'm leery of using OnlyFans because it has connotations with porn, and some of my actresses have agreed to work with me because I expressly promised I would not host their videos on any porn sites.  If I went Gumroad-only, though, it would spare me both the porn connotations and the hassle of maintaining a hosted library somewhere.  But it'd also mean less interaction with you guys, which I really do enjoy!  And would that be a turn off to you?

I've made a short poll below.  Vote for all options that apply, and please also let me know what you think.  It'll help me better understand what's important to you and what makes the most sense to focus on.  Would you be happy with getting your vore from a store-only model?  If viewing embedded videos is preferable, are you aware of hosting alternatives to Vimeo that would suit vore well?

I also really like the interactive element and don't want to give that up. Since making this post, I think I've found a solution that will blend having some films be viewable only through Patreon links, and some be store-exclusive. I'm still working out the details, but I think I've found a way to do both that won't need a lot of maintenance.

I actually like gumroad but it has been really neat being able to message you directly so I don’t 100% like the idea of no patreon but…you’re on Instagram I believe so there are other avenues. If you leave patreon make sure you’re checking other social media sites as much and keeping in touch with the fans lol.

That's such a bummer! It does feel like we're always on that razor's edge! Gumroad has been great for me too! I just worry that switching entirely to a store model would prevent other forms of content release & interaction that some people would very strongly prefer to have.

I myself am a vore artist that dabbles in making movies too. Gumroad has been good to host ALL of my work as well. I recently got deleted from deviant art with no explanation after 12 years. Just POOF, gone! I am also looking for a new place to advertise my work as my deviant art account is gone. I like your movies and will try to support you wherever you end up. Good luck!!

I understand the wish to be discreet. Thankfully, Gumroad accepts PayPal. Gumroad's the only place where I'm truly able to host ALL of my stuff. YouTube and Patreon have limits that I try not to flirt with too much, and as I mentioned in the post, I've promised some actresses that I won't sell their stuff on sites that are openly porn-related, which is why some scenes don't appear on C4S.

I have been linking my DeviantArt image sets to this site and my Gumroad store, but maybe there's a better way to optimize my approach.

As long as it's a site that uses Paypal, I'm good. The issue with clips4sale is that it requires clipcash, which is harder to explain on a bank statement then adding funds to paypal. I prefer to keep my vore fetish discreet.

The problem with just about any of these options is that the entities managing wherever the videos are hosted could do the equivalent of wake up one day, decide vore should not be in their business model, and hit the "Delete All" button. That said, I know of some artists that already have Gumroad accounts, so maybe that might be a good option. The one additional downside I have seen from Gumroad is that it is really challenging to navigate. The solution I have seen is to use DeviantArt as a platform to provide still shots from the videos and then link to said videos in Gumroad.
