I agree with this. I've taken a two semester art class on environmental art/urban sketching. Started out fun, but the sheer volume of drawings we had to make broke me, and I still struggle to find the motivation to finish the course. ;_; I think it's also because I am better at digital art, so the things I thought I could do didn't quite work out, and I was left with the realization that I had so SO much to learn in that area. Being faced with all your skill issues can be really demotivating. The same goes for drawing things you're just not passionate about. I scaled back the amount of fan arts I did because I just had no fun doing them. I think it's better to focus on drawing things that bring you joy, rather than just drawing for the sake of learning only. You might improve slower, but you are less likely to run the risk of stopping drawing entirely, which will set you back even more. ... Tezz is supposed to be the with the most refined muscles, since he's the only one actually working out. I feel like I have never done him justice ahah

2024-09-17 08:46:12 +0000 UTCimho the best way to learn is to be motivated the best way to be motivated is to do what you enjoy i initially subscribed to this patreon for the speedpaints, and although i still watch them and try and learn from them, I've had artists block ever since i finished (and honestly, even when i started) taking my first official art class. I learned a lot, but ever since then, I've just not had the proper motivation to draw. It's slowly been coming back, with little sketching sessions here and there, but it's been over 8 months since I've drawn anything I'm proud of. Keep doing what you enjoy, and you'll burn out significantly less <3 ALSO THOSE ABS ARE GREAT OML 🤤 never thought there would be a moment i found a BH character hotter than tezz 😅
