NVB3 roof extensions ...
Added 2021-01-04 07:57:34 +0000 UTCWelcome guys and girls to 2021! I am back to work and I can show you where I am with the various roof extension options I have been working on for the main long house.
There will be two sizes. In the first pic you see the large one in the middle with a wall extension and the small "closed" ones on the sides. I call the later "closed" as they don't cut the main roof open on the bottom edge.
In the second pic you see the small one. In the middle with wall extension and on the sides the walls just extend up.
These are just configurations to show all the options. Of course you could have only the large one in the middle or three small "closed" ones. And as you can configure them for one side of the main roof, you can go symmetrical or not!
The wall extensions I want to make in two lengths (at least for the large one) going out 1 or 2 inch.
With all of these I can see many different looks just with the core long house already. Add the extensions to the sides and up (see third pic) and you can make a different chieftains long house for each tribe you want to bring to the table :)
I am also working on some defensive structures (wooden palisades and gates, maybe towers) and will continue the Norse inspired bits for you guys here on the Patreon. More details on that soon!
So that's all I have to show for now. I hope you all had a great change of the year celebration. We had some nice dinner and then a little game before we were so tired that we went to bed before midnight :) Fireworks were quite calm this year so I had a good sleep and then a nice walk in the forests and hills of beautiful Mühlviertel region in Upper Austria on the 1st!
