Wheelbarrow coming!

I have been working on this new little bit the past few days. I have seen one like that at a garden shop when I was in the Salzkammergut region and liked the shape and size very much.

I changed the position of the handles and the wheel a bit and tinkered until I have the right size for the table and after texturing it I am quite happy to have this addition to the farm theme! It's big enough to use for LOS/cover during action and small enough to look realistic.

For the "dirt" I printed a page of earth image on thin paper and then cut it to size and crumpled it up :-)

The build above is using stronger cardboard to get more thickness but it still looks great with regular (160gsm) paper.

Will make the instructions today and then it will be ready for tomorrows release of the basic bit series!

Until tomorrow then :-)

Wheelbarrow coming!

I have my troubles with superglue. Goes on my fingers all the time :-) That dispenser sounds interesting. Have to see if I can get that here.

Yes! Superglue works best. I found a type that has a workable dispenser, Loctite. 0.07 oz. tube with a cap that seals and comes off too! Glue has been my worst enemy since I was a kid. Always getting it all over everything... The finished wheelbarrows look fantastic!

Pics ... yes please :-) I checked and it seems figure size is apx 11mm at N scale. So a bit under half of my regular size. Another trick for very small parts is to carefully apply some superglue as this dries into a rock hard coat!

It's hard to describe, about half of HO 1:87, that's the most common scale for trains. Hot Wheels are close to HO. N scale... 6 feet is just under 1/2 inch. Those wheels are maybe 3/16, 8cm. Real tricky to cut out with plastic scissors! It's fun, I'm patient, getting better slowly. I'll have to post some pix somewhere.

Is that half the scale? I am guessing the biggest challenge will be thin parts. I try to add some black border in that case to make the thick enough for the paper to "hold" the part and be workable.

Looks great! That's going to be a challenge in N scale! (1:160)
