Stone cistern WIP
Added 2020-03-10 10:37:28 +0000 UTCWhile working on the cistern I got feedback the the shape was too large, so I made the geometry a bit smaller. I only found this after I made all the texture variations so here the shape was still too big.
The cistern will come with and without covering lids. So far I only have the easy build hinting at the deep opening via the texture shadows, but I also want to add a recessed opening for better looks if you want to build it that way.
Here's an overview of the variations I got so far. I also made a proper base (as seen in the top pic) that fits with the plaza ground base from last months obelisk set.
So basically you can choose to print the cover on the cistern or have it "open" and cut out a separate cover (for either indicating open/closed during gaming or as a separate detail as in the top pic leaning on the side). The free version will have the water filled open version and the metal grate closed option. The advanced Patreon version will have the empty version with the wood cover added! If I have time I will also put in a stone variant. I have already seen a nice design I would like to add.
Next I'll start on the wrought iron frame details!
Hope you guys are having a good time. Here we have a lot of news about the corona-virus and I ordered a lot of paper and glue in case we get a lock-down too :-) That way I can still keep working!

I will make an option where you have an actual recessed hole and you have the separate covers to put them on it. For other details I was thinking about making the geometry more complex but at that size it would be challenging to build so I will leave it at that. I want to add another stone texture variant though instead.
