Looking forward ... hello 2020 :-)
Added 2020-01-14 11:32:21 +0000 UTCAfter having properly said good-bye to 2019 it's time to start focusing on 2020!
Basic Bits!
I want to start making more "interior" pieces, like beds and tables etc. and I wonder if I can tackle plants/vegetation for this category. I also want to start working in the future and make some bits for Sci-Fi settings. And I have lots of ideas still on my list from last year, so I don't think I will run out ideas for the Bits!
What would you like to see in this category?
In addition to the usual Basic Bits, here are a couple of themes/areas/civilzations I would like to make paper models for this year.
Ships!
I just love ships and I have ideas and plans for a handful. Among them Chinese Junks and Corsair pirate ships. Depending on the interest I would also tackle the big ships I have planned: a huge Frigate and Galleon. Maybe some Air-Ships. I have been asked about the latter quite often.
Do you have special ships or naval stuff you need for your adventures?
Euro-Fantasy-Medieval Village Builders!
I also get asked often about this period/style, so I want to try to add some sets in this area. Like the ones before, think generic Village builder houses and then some specials, like a cool Tavern for example.
Another thing I have started making sketches is to work on different "cultures" (both historical and fantasy).
Which style, culture or period are you most interested in?
Asian Buildings!
There is still much I want to do here because I love this architecture style. Maybe update the Pagoda/Temple with better roof geometry or create completely new buildings. Samurai compound was requested before.
I have created a lot already in this category but let me know if you have a special wish here!
Sci-Fi setting!
There are two things I would like to create. One is a space colony setting and another is a spaceship dungeon style set.
Which one would you prefer?
Wild West?
This one comes with a question mark. It would be a setting I love but I am not sure how much interest we have here.
So let me know!
Speaking of "letting me know" ... I want to change communication a bit. I have seen last year that I might have overloaded you with posts here as I often found out that people have not read stuff I have written about. So I want to reduce ongoing WIP chatter and focus on important announcements. I think "evaporative" posts, that don't need to be kept alive forever, might be better on sites like Twitter.
Who want's the WIP posts to remain here?
I also will try out a Discord. I think this can help us both in terms of finding what to work on next and also to clarify building questions and of course to get to know us! :-)
For the near future I want to complete the Chinese Yard house I have made last year with a 12" wide version and also make a tower for the Tropical Village builder series.
So, let me know what you guys and girls think!
Until next time have fun and keep building :-)
Chris

Thank you very much for your kind words. Much appreciated!!! Trains are also something I am very interested in. I have collected quite some research on that topic and started breaking up the main geometry. The biggest challenge for me is that either I can go no-interior and have realistic dimensions or when I allow going inside, then the models have to become quite large. Also I am very happy to see a Wild West vote! :-)

2020-01-18 07:35:29 +0000 UTCChris, your models are wonderful! Very well designed and realistic. I'm thankful you are creating them for the rest of us to build! I hate to make work for you, but I have to add my vote for some Wild West creations ... I've been using your models, and others, for my model railroad layout in 'N' scale (1:160) . I've been making some changes with the printed paper and the computer images to fit my needs. Now I'm making a freight station, warehouse, and platform using your Tropical Village set. I'm still learning slowly but it's so much fun that the modeling is all I do! Soon I will purchase your ships and boats models and fit them in somehow. Thanks again Chris.

2020-01-18 00:41:32 +0000 UTCI have only seen 2D plants. I hope to be able to make a more 3D or at least 2.5D system work which will allow me to create more real looking plants, yet easy enough to build. If you have links to existing plant makers let me know. I haven't been able to find much.
