If you have a little more time to build, you can try this version of the undercarriage. It's basically just the sides of the easy box connected with a framework to hold it together and give the assembly some "space" to place the wagon on.
In this build I have also doubled up the wheels and glued them onto the sides for a little depth. You can skip that part and then the sides will look as flat as the boxed version.

Here is a view with the wagon taken off. I have tried to texture it with a framework I have seen on real wagons undercarriages, so it looks a little interesting. I have a feeling that this wasn't actually used in the hearse wagon style but it looks good :-) I am guessing really they had just the back wheels attached via the feather springs and the front wheels attached separately like I will do it with the advanced 3D build, but I think it's a worth while compromise as you can now use the undercarriage even without the wagon on top if the need arises.
Next I will tackle the fully advanced version and check if I can add a little more detail to the wagon assembly!
Until next time, have fun and keep building :-)
