Want to add a new game to the permanent roster
Added 2021-11-18 20:10:40 +0000 UTCWhat would you most like to see more off? You are all paying for my whiskey so you votes are weighted more heavily than the YT votes. I think I'll split the YT vote over the two main genres represented builders "Autonauts, Satisfactory, Space Engineers and Astroneer" vs more role play stuff "Kenshi and Starsector" Then have the winners face off against each other.

a quick game that resembles Rimworld is stranded alien dawn. its still in EA but has potential. would like for you to do an X4 play or even a live stream!

2023-03-31 16:05:18 +0000 UTCI'm not sure if this is exactly your style, but there is this game from a decade ago called Achron which is an RTS that has Time Travel fully implemented as a gameplay mechanic, both in terms of altering the orders to gave in the past to change the present, but also in terms of literally time traveling units. It has a delayed ripple effect and deterministic paradox resolution. The RTS part of the game is a bit rough, but the time mechanics are one of the coolest things I've seen in a game, once it actually clicks. Thing is, best I can tell, no one has ever posted a complete playthrough of the campaign online. Again, not sure if it is your style, but it is super worth looking at

2022-12-06 06:40:06 +0000 UTCI’m a new patreon, so I don’t know the history of game discussion, however I would love to see an Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen tutorial. But I am also an old fart.

2022-03-08 07:20:46 +0000 UTCIm here just for rimworld
2022-03-03 17:28:33 +0000 UTCJust wanted to give you my thoughts. I love the Idea of a heavily modded Rimworld. You are really good at explaining things so a little tips and tricks on how to set up Mods without the game breaking would be nice. Kind of like a Mod Setup Tutorial. Maybe somewhere at the start or a few episodes in. Modding is scary to me because things can go wrong how badly can I break my game and how do I fix it. Also how do I trouble shoot. I know I can look this up but in an age of information I look for reliable and succinct which you do well. For a mod suggestion, a wave based survival would be great. I know you like combat and forcing a raid every so often that get harder and harder, I like the idea. Mr Samuel Streamer has been doing a really interesting wave base defense. He also plays a lot of Modded Rimworld so you may find some great mods to add from his channel. Just wanted to say, I love your commentary and videos. I didn't think I would like the Satisfactory playthrough but I was wrong. You made it so enjoyable. Loved watching you build a computer too. But I think its time we put it to the test with something ridiculous.

2022-02-25 22:17:31 +0000 UTCHonestly I really like when you review games and play them in general. I've picked up a couple new games and avoided some others that clearly didnt appeal to me from your review / quickplays. Maybe have a weekly segment where you review/play a new game? I would like that a lot.

2021-11-25 07:51:56 +0000 UTCTo be honest, none of these click with me, so I'll just skip the vote.

2021-11-24 22:39:03 +0000 UTCYes, Francis' "emergent storytelling" style is why I joined his cult/patreon ;-)
2021-11-24 07:22:50 +0000 UTCI agree! I have over a 1000 hours in Space Engineers and it's always been slow and buggy as hell. The part that I enjoyed is that you could write a script to run mining drills and many other parts with little knowledge of C#. However, unless you are running mods that make the gameplay, and you shouldn't have to, then I wouldn't bother investing 500+ hours into the game unless you're also adept at mod creation and/or C# programming.
2021-11-24 06:54:13 +0000 UTCIndeed!
2021-11-24 06:38:24 +0000 UTCI hope that, if and when they release the updated somewhat more user-friendly Dwarf Fortress, you give it a go. But you could always have a go at the ridiculously unfriendly interface of the original.
2021-11-22 23:09:26 +0000 UTCI love your Rimworld videos and something I really like about that is the complexity combined with the "emergent storytelling" of that style. There are few games that do that really well in a really open and free sense. Satisfactory is cool but it isn't going to throw a lot of unexpected survival problems you have to navigate carefully. Of these games I think Starsector and Kenshi have the best potential for that. Another one that's phenomenal for that environmental storytelling and situational challenge is The Long Dark, but it's ridiculously slow if you're playing safely, and also has no end goal.
2021-11-22 23:04:29 +0000 UTCHave several hundred hrs in Space Engineers and it's fun and creative but janky and has no end goal. It's also very slow going, so may not fit well with your style. I think your ratio of playtime to edited video length would be high for it to be as entertaining to watch as ONI or Rimworld. Haven't played satisfactory but it looks beautiful and like a first person factorio, really, although without the growing swarms of attacking bugs.
2021-11-22 22:59:48 +0000 UTCI started playing Satisfactory after your episode on it and now I’m hooked and I need you to do more updates to explain optimal builds and particular game mechanics

2021-11-22 18:42:38 +0000 UTCBoth your Rimworld and Oni content never gets old for me. Id love to see how you would handle that modded astroid, Baator, for example or any of the new astroids. Also would love to see a Ideology playthrough. That said, it shouldnt feel like a chore to you to play games so if you need something fresh, or want to attract new viewers, go for it - as I will watch it anyways :)
2021-11-21 10:53:44 +0000 UTCI agree with the above. I want to see how ONI does with your new processor. It may force me to upgrade from my i7-6700 CPU ;-) (1080 ti g card purchased when they were released and I hope it doesn't die, haha [because the g-card prices are now insane])
2021-11-20 04:02:45 +0000 UTCI agree, though admittedly I sometimes wish I could have someone pick for me since I can't decide what to play next, so this may be somewhat fueled by that sentiment.
2021-11-19 22:28:08 +0000 UTCTo be honest I would like to see how the new computer copes with ONI, you know the old saves that we’re chugging at bit on the old machine, just about happy to watch most stuff, maybe not kenchi though, or maybe ONI again when they drop the final version
2021-11-19 21:49:47 +0000 UTCHonestly Francis I’d say play what is most fun for you. We kindred spirits all just like to be along for the ride.
2021-11-19 20:03:09 +0000 UTCDown for either Satisfactory or StarSector. I think you will dig both and certainly you will come up with some interesting designs. Astroneer would be cool too, although I think that one would go quickly for you. I'm anti Kenji though, I don't think I would watch it.
2021-11-19 17:29:22 +0000 UTCOne plus or benefit to Satisfactory (even though I didn't vote for it) could be channel exposure. That'd be the only way I'd vote for Satisfactory.
Genesis
2021-11-19 15:58:07 +0000 UTCMaking him NOT play Autonauts should be considered a violation of human rights. ;)
Genesis
2021-11-19 15:55:58 +0000 UTCSatisfactory is a fun game to dig in on your own and make your own little bowl of spaghetti, but there's no endgame content and it makes it hard to do a definitive series in. FJ could make his own goal perhaps? like making a 90GW nuclear plant? or X number of turbo motors per minute. Defnitely would love to see something like Starsector or Kenshi though
2021-11-19 15:34:12 +0000 UTCThis one is hard. Don't want to go Cutsy on this channel, Space engineers is creative but no direction. Want to say Satisfactory but it has no End Game (yet) and others are doing it well at the moment. Kenshi and Starsector would be a bit different but enough for multiple plays? I'm going to say Starsector but I think a different option would be to Pick the top 2-3 and do a single Full Season rather than add a new permanent game on the roster. Maybe make it yearly "play a few new games, make a Season of the best" to mix things up a bit and if a perfect fit does come along add that one.
2021-11-19 11:34:06 +0000 UTCMaking Francis play Autonauts should be consider violation of Human Rights...
2021-11-19 08:04:41 +0000 UTC*stares at the poll* Oh God, we just enabled the third dimension to FJs hyperoptimization cravings... What have we done?

2021-11-19 07:59:43 +0000 UTCWe second Andrew Paul
2021-11-19 07:17:03 +0000 UTCI don't really care for Satisfactory at all. Would rather see another run on Oni or another 400 pawn on Rw.
2021-11-19 06:30:32 +0000 UTCStarsector. It’s different enough from your usual stuff to warrant a look. Satisfactory is not going to feel original. Too many people have done it to death already
Andrew Paul
2021-11-19 05:17:31 +0000 UTCOne word.... Civilization
2021-11-19 02:47:50 +0000 UTCI love satisfactory but I think you'd have a hard time making something different than existing. It's not full of uniqueness I think. Very predictable.
2021-11-19 01:24:32 +0000 UTCSatis is very hard to do a let’s play without massive progress edits. It’s a poison pill
2021-11-19 00:48:03 +0000 UTCYeah, I agree. We are pretty much only here for war crimes
2021-11-19 00:18:49 +0000 UTCMy votes are kenshi (fj’s mount & blade series inspires this choice) and starsector. Both are complex and deep enough to merit an FJ playthrough, while still being rimworld-level dark. We all love the dark humor, no? I love satisfactory, but i think it lacks the depth that i enjoy about FJ content. It would be straight base building. Not that thats bad, but the story-driven stuff gets my votes here
el_turista
2021-11-19 00:16:33 +0000 UTCInitially I wanted to see Satisfactory, but I feel like there isn't enough in Satisfactory for Francis to do something different enough from Let's Game It Out or ImKibitz to be worth watching an extended playthrough. Astroneer feels similar. Starsector feels both more unique and closer to the channel's general vibe. I would love to see more of the other games, but I am just not sure that they could sustain more than 7-10 episodes given Francis's pension for expertly editing out the exceeding tedious bits.
2021-11-18 23:46:24 +0000 UTCWas there any game in particular that you either had a great time with or a game you looked at and thought "Oh I bet I can break this hilariously"
Arram Daywalker
2021-11-18 23:31:27 +0000 UTCIf satis wins I'll probably be taking a break from Francis, lol. Satis is the opposite of interesting.

2021-11-18 22:48:30 +0000 UTCCome on Kenshi go vruum XD
2021-11-18 22:04:56 +0000 UTCGo for it, if you can't decide between two things you can split the vote.
Francis John
2021-11-18 21:34:54 +0000 UTCHow does Stellaris have so much DLC, it's crazy. The "Starter Pack" is 90 euro and the full bundle is 200. I did but the strategy games out of the testing section as one day is not enough time to get a taste for them.
Francis John
2021-11-18 21:33:40 +0000 UTCThe game has been out for a while and judging by Josh if I want to go bigger I'll have to invest a lot of time.
Francis John
2021-11-18 21:31:13 +0000 UTCCurious about how that works out as well, my plan would be to hook up all the resource patches and use them. Not sure what is left after that, but considering this vote this looks like we will find out.
Francis John
2021-11-18 21:29:44 +0000 UTCKenshi with Patreon naming of any recruits using the left over Patreon names from the Rimworld playthrough
2021-11-18 21:25:40 +0000 UTCIs there anything to be said for another mass. And by 'mass' I mean Stellaris.

2021-11-18 21:24:13 +0000 UTCDwarf fortress!
2021-11-18 21:13:13 +0000 UTCI feel like a lot of the games are very basic graphics wise. With the beef of computer you just spend money on, i feel like it should be something that at least makes use of some of it, so i'm voting for Satisfactory :)
2021-11-18 21:05:08 +0000 UTCDitto to motion sickness. As long as the camera movements are smooth, I should be ok.
utdrmac
2021-11-18 20:55:56 +0000 UTCWhatever you do, I'm sure it will be up to your usual excellent standard. Thanks for giving us a say in where your next deep dive goes.

2021-11-18 20:52:12 +0000 UTC+1 on Satisfactory and Astroneer - you can do it
2021-11-18 20:51:17 +0000 UTCI think whatever you choose, you should aim to do stuff bigger and better than other channels. Not through only grinding, but also by clever use of game mechanics. This is the way.
2021-11-18 20:49:17 +0000 UTCI’d love to see a series on satisfactory. Build something massive and totally insane
2021-11-18 20:49:03 +0000 UTCI think he is taking a break from the regular games, I can't blame him. Hope they return to their full glory as soon as everything is ready
Matya
2021-11-18 20:29:38 +0000 UTCI would love to see you create in space engineers but I am afraid that learning all the detail on how to be efficient would be a lot of time you don't want to be spendong with SE having such a little request rate here... 😇 On the other hand, I thing astroneer would be something relatively easy to do for enjoyable content where 5 episodes are not about learning how to weld properly, but exploring the planets and caves. Nevertheless, whatever it's going to be, I am pretty sure the usual FJ quality will make it very enjoyable as usual ♥. Keep up the good work. I am even willing to watch satisfactory, even its not ranking high on my personal preference. Ymmv.
Matya
2021-11-18 20:28:27 +0000 UTCI think you'll find the limit of depth in satisfactory quickly compared to the games we're used to seeing you play on this channel. We will continue to watch your career with great interest regardless.
2021-11-18 20:21:44 +0000 UTCRimworld ideology!

2021-11-18 20:21:20 +0000 UTCYeah, I figured statisfactory would lead. I just hope I can keep the motion sickness in check...
Fernando Meseguer Garrido
2021-11-18 20:21:20 +0000 UTCRP-wise, I think either option is fine. Both (Kenshi and Starsector) you could go super mischievous on (if you choose that route). Builder-wise, Autonauts or Space Engineers are my votes.
Genesis
2021-11-18 20:19:33 +0000 UTCPersonally not a fan of any of these, but appreciate you taking the communities' input into consideration
2021-11-18 20:18:10 +0000 UTCThough yes I agree with Holly :)
2021-11-18 20:17:36 +0000 UTCWould really love to see you play Kenshi, a lot of crazy potential on that one, although performance could be a problem haha Thanks for asking us about it!
2021-11-18 20:17:31 +0000 UTCIs it bad that I'd like to see more autonauts just so Francis has to deal with the cutesy aesthetic :D ?
2021-11-18 20:17:05 +0000 UTCLoved all your rimworld playthroughs and how you make it different each series. I feel kenshi has potential for the same kind of thing. Also you’re the best FJ thanks for going part time to keep us all entertained
2021-11-18 20:16:48 +0000 UTCWill that mean that you'll have: Rimworld, Oxygen Not Included, Factorio and one of these games in your permanent roster? Make sure to not try to take on too much!!!
