Quick update RE: apple store subscriptions
Added 2024-08-12 19:05:06 +0000 UTCSo if you're subscribed to other patreon people you've probably already heard about this but just in case you're not I'll tell you about it as well.
For Capitalism Reasons apple is forcing patreon to give them a cut of all patreon pledges made through the IOS app (30%), and in response Patreon have enabled an automatic price increase for all subscriptions made on apple products to compensate which sucks for anyone subscribing to this page using the patreon app.
Luckily, existing patreon pledges are unchanged as are prices on every other platform so if you are thinking of changing how much you support the channel by or are a first-time supporter please do it on a platform that isn't the IOS Patreon app in order to save some money - I get paid the same either way!

2024-08-14 17:05:36 +0000 UTCAlso, I would advice all Apple users to uninstall the Patreon app and instead create a homescreen shortcut from Safari. This will create a "progressive web app" that functions like a normal app, with the only caveat that it doesn't give you notifications. But you also circumvent the whole Apple tax.

I signed up the old-fashioned way...through this thing called a "desktop computer". More people need to use those, but they're kind of hard to stuff in your pocket before running off to work. Please continue to enjoy whatever you buy with the ten bucks each month, good sir. As my mother always said at Christmas, "here's some money, whatever you spend it on, that's your Christmas present from Mom."
