ive never been a big reader but i am trying to get back onto it. and i believe i will give a good portion of credit to you Alastair. i find it hard to choose a book to read based on the brief synopsis the give on the back cover and this has helped me choose several books to download to my kindle account and i just downloaded audible as well. loved the christoher paolini series.

Wow, I never knew George RR Martin made this much money out of GOT, 150 million dollars is an insane amount of money. Also, you look so gorgeous Alastair just like always, props to you for being so disciplined with your intake of food, exercise and all that.

Thanks for making this list! I will check them out in 2024. Pretty sure I will have to read the Cradle series now. Tread of Angels is high on my list since your "Alastair Reviews It" episode on YT a while ago but I still haven't gotten to it! Will of the Many seems excellent - only 5 chapters in. I'm really glad you're feeling well. I got sidetracked in November with a bad cold and haven't gotten back to my core program. Now is the time its most important as the days are shortest!

Regarding George RR Martin I feel like it's history repeating itself. I was reading Wheel of Time as Jordan was publishing them and around Book 7 he said it might be 9 or 10 books total. It still wasn't done at book 11 when he died, so Brandon Sanderson got the file folder in Jordan's cabinet that had the end of the story as he had written it in the beginning... Then Sanderson kept an update on his blog about his progress and he announced the ending book would be split in two.... then when the 12th book was published he said it would be 2 more! Yeah - so 14 books in it finally ended. I was satisfied since I had invested so much time into it (probably read book 1 five or six times!) The phrase "navel-gazing" comes to mind when I think of books No 8+ One of the book's duration is only a week! It's not so much Jordan painted himself into a corner as I think he didn't know how to end it - despite knowing he was ill. Some authors need editors. Or managers.

Alastair I forgot to say congrats on losing those inches, under wear modelling next in your future. Kidding aside I know you wanted to do that so thumbs up. Well done. I’m like Rory I need an ending, I’m reading a John Gwynne series that isn’t finished I usually stay away from unfinished series. I went for years with Stephen Kings gunslinger books.

Alastair , it's Saturday morning and I'm sipping my Irish breakfast tea. I wanted to say something about you not finishing books and endings of television shows. The series finale of The Big Bang Theory was by far the very best finale of any show. It was so beautiful and funny and poignant that I really think you should give it a look. It put everything together perfectly. The very best to you. Rory.

finished Murtaugh and it was great. there is also "the fork the witch and the worm" if you haven't read that is apparently a fun bit of stories about the world in Eragon.
