Far Future Snippets - Fellowship of the Round Table

Notes: This one is a bit long for a 'snippet' and will probably need to have the MC make a decision in the middle of the scene when it eventually gets integrated into the game.

Nearby, Cassandra sits on the steps leading into the passenger side of the motorhome's cockpit. Slowly and methodically, she inspects and cleans each part of her Glock-19, not even bothering to glance up when a buck-naked Percy comes bursting out of the RV's main entrance right next to her.

"Come back, you little shit!" Broderick yells, hot on the nude trail of your blue-haired companion.

The two of them go circling around the entire perimeter of the camp, Percy as naked as the day he was born, Broderick clad in t-shirt, jeans, and... is that Mr. Squeakers the chew toy wearing a little wedding dress jammed into his front pocket?

Around and around they go, until Percy makes his hasty retreat by leaping clear over the campfire at the center of the encampment. Gwen, in the midst of toasting wieners over said fire, gives a yelp of alarm and nearly staggers straight into the flames.

As Broderick also jumps over the blaze, Adrian lunges to the side before Gwen can teeter into the fire pit. And perhaps steps a shade too close himself as he begins wildly swatting at an ember that's landed upon the long sleeve of his hoodie.

"Stop, drop, and roll! Stop, drop, and roll!" Gwen helpfully choruses as she flails at her rescuer, maybe accidentally slapping him a time or two.

Lorelei, returning to the camp with an armful of wood in hand, takes one look at the rest of you, turns on her heel, and goes stalking right back into the forest. Meanwhile, Cassandra closes one eye and carefully aims her gun. Somehow, you don't think you want to know exactly where she's pointing that.

"Merlin," you finally address the pale-clad mage who's been silently standing at your side overlooking the camp the entire time. "Was the Fellowship of the Round Table ever actually like this?"

The Court Mage's gaze drifts far away, off into the distance of both time and space. Yes, thousands and thousands of yards are encompassed within that blank stare.

"Yes, yes, they were," Merlin says as someone begins screaming about the fire spreading in the background.
