Upcoming content in 0.0.3
Added 2021-06-29 20:23:17 +0000 UTCHey everyone!
0.0.3 Release draws near, and I'd like to let you know what you can expect.
I definitely wasn't able to work on 0.0.3 as much as I wanted to, considering I still had to work other things going on in my life.
But what'll be in 0.0.3:
---------Artificial Intelligence---------
Very basic enemy AI
Rabbits and Foxes will roam around near the "Gobbo Cave". You can kill these for meat / hide. They'll run if you're near and generally die in 1 hit from the bow. AI also avoids water to avoid a ton of foxes/rabbits running into the water and thus being unable to be found.
Melee goblins
These guys are currently working as is CURRENTLY intended. They'll know where you are when they get hit or when you're close and will attack when you're in range.
Goblin Shamans
Currently having some script issues which I am hoping to be able to fix before I actually release 0.0.3
If I can get them to work as I want to, they'll perform a dance to perform different kinds of magic. One is a delayed explosion on your saved position, another is a % movement speed slow.
-------------------
Combat
Of course with enemies, comes combat.
You'll have a health bar on the bottom of the screen to visualize your current amount of health. Losing all your health will teleport you back to your house.
Currently your only available weapon is a bow (Which was the hardest to add hence why I did it first)
You're able to land headshots on the goblins for 1.5x damage.
-------------------
Loot / Items:
Of course a dungeon comes with loot.
Enemies will be able to drop their inventories with random amounts of specific items. (Hostile enemy drops will also have different rarities)
I've also added the ability to open chests and take items.
New items include:
Bow / arrow
Working health potions
Movement speed potion
And items you can generally sell for money.
In 0.0.4 when melee & magic combat is added, I'll also add working weapons here.

Open World
NPC Variety
I've been busy with different shaders to allow for different colours on GPU-instanced animations. This means that there will be more variety in regards to how NPCs look without losing out on performance
Wildlife
As said before, I have been working on adding foxes and rabbits onto the map. These creatures will roam around different spawners. The currently used spawners are fairly inefficient and don't always work 100% of the time, I'll use more efficient ones in 0.0.4
NPC conversations
I've been working (and still am) on more conversations for NPCs. This also means more quests/information and world/story building.
I'll admit this may all seem like much, but it's nowhere close to the amount that I've been wanting to add. So I hope I'll be able to make up for that in 0.0.4!
Performance should be down by just a couple of frames in this patch compared to 0.0.2 due to the new stuff I've been adding, but it's not an issue. It's something I want to further improve upon in 0.0.5.
Also as you might have noticed, all of this is mostly "behind closed doors" kind of work that you don't really see at face value, hence why there were less screenshots this month than before; I didn't have as much that I could visually show off! =)
