2025-05-19 14:58:57 +0000 UTCIf you are in Australia, I just tested the following paper which worked very well and should be widely available. from Officeworks, J.Burrows A4 170gsm Digital Coated Paper Gloss 250 Sheets; Product Code: JBDPGA4170; Part Number 3941227; Barcode 9341694503738; Country of Manufacture Italy. The package says "J.Burrows A4 Premium Digital Gloss Paper 250 sheets 170gsm". It is "gloss" on both sides though looked more like satin to my eye. It got a pretty much perfect transfer to two boards. The paper absorbed water pretty quickly and removal of the paper was easy enough. All toner and a dusting of paper went onto the pcb with no toner left on the paper. If you are reading this more than a few months since it was written, I suggest check the paper is still made in Italy to confirm you are getting the same paper and that they have not switched suppliers.

2024-03-30 00:42:10 +0000 UTCAfter no other paper worked very well, I ordered some of the yellow sheets. With my Canon MF624 laser printer set to darkest, densest toner, just like the other papers that did not work well, I printed on the glossy side of the yellow paper and it worked perfectly. There was no toner left on the yellow paper with a complete transfer to the PCB, and it just lifted off with no water, scrubbing or residue. I should also mention that after I stripped the gears on my old laminator I got a used Dactek 5000 for $35. It takes a full thickness board very nicely, has adjustable heat, thermometer and no thickness issues. I used it with no modifications of any kind. Only negative is that it will limit my max board size. Now my challenge with be doing the Ultra Probe surface mount components. My attempt at a Super Probe was a total fail. I think my iron was too hot, and it had 805 size parts that are just hard for these old eyes. Hoping this will be better.
