Two Great "Very Easy" Circuits To Build And Learn From - The "One Shot" And A 555 On/Off Latching Switch!

I use these two GREAT circuits in many of my builds, they are the one "one shot," and a latching on/off circuit. These circuits are built with "off the shelf parts," and nothing that's hard to find. Build and add these to your scrap book for future use. Enjoy!

Two Great "Very Easy" Circuits To Build And Learn From - The "One Shot" And A 555 On/Off Latching Switch!

I am using a 555 circuit to switch on a bias substitution box on, and after about 12 minutes the meters switch off automatically. It shows the cathode or plate current, depending on where you hook up the test leads, the plate voltage, and it has a 100 watt 2000 ohm rheostat for cathode biasing or a 50K 10 turn pot for fixed biasing. It's a portable thing, so it runs on batteries or an AC adapter, and if it takes you over 10 minutes to bias an amp, you might want to find something else to do.

Hi Paul, recently i saw a video where you talked about the use of breadboards and the quality of them, and that you have modified yours for safety when using mains voltage. Can you tell us more about these modification(s) please?
