Replacing Selenium Or Metal Rectifiers With Modern Parts!

I have just found out that my oscilloscope contains a tunnel diode, and apparently these are incredibly rare devices, my Solartron CD1400 has a JK10B tunnel diode, and I can't seem to source a suitable replacement, I would be very keen if you could cover the topic of Tunnel Diodes, their testing and replacement and also if there is anything that could be used instead of a tunnel diode to create the same effect

I generally find a 100Ω 10W works just fine. Especially AA5's, or NON-precision test equipment.

Mr. Carlson, noticed you don't post a bio anywhere. You're clearly a professor/instructor somewhere. What is your, "day job" and what is your bio? Not being nosey, just, well being nosey. Cheers!

There is some chatter about replacing the 6AX4 with a Silicone Diode in some capacitor testers, would be interesting to see more on that topic.
