Reliability-How To Make Your Repairs Dependable.

Enjoyed this video, just joined and after working in Mechanical Design for years but also a HAM, I agree and appreciate the comments on stress and the importance of filling in the solder. I worked on ISS Space Station (Boeing) and later SLS Rocket and I can't tell you how many meetings I sat in on with stress engineers/mechanical/electrical engineers to discuss one topic. How does this project in this case a Rocket impact the stress of components on electrical components. As an example during launch a rocket and generate a lot of stress, vibration and frequency issues. So much so that a lot of systems are placed on vibration drawings other ways to keep the component from destroying itself. Now, to compare to your example. You repair a large audio amp for someone's car. If you don't consider the potential application for instance its going in a car where the owner wants to get as close as he can to shattering his windows (its a contest at some shows) all that audio and vibration from the speakers can easily do damage to stressed parts and solders. Anyway, I talk to much I need a hobby to keep me busy... 73s KB4CQ
