Another Invention Released To You! The Carlson "Low Voltage" Capacitor Leakage Tester.
Added 2018-03-15 11:58:25 +0000 UTCThis ranks up there with the "Carlson Super Probe." This tester will test capacitors for leakage without the "High Voltage" used in all the others! This is a much safer alternative, and if that's not good enough..... It's even more sensitive than normal HV leakage testers, It picks up faulty capacitors that the others don't see. This unit can also be used to "forecast" future possible capacitor failures. It really is that good!

Hi. Im trying to find out if there is a size limit to Mr. Carlsons low voltage capacitor leakage tester. I intend on checking audio filter capacitors around 33,000uf. Anyone know or tried testing something of this size before with it? Thanks

2024-09-04 15:58:48 +0000 UTCSorry, hit the return key by mistake, but the hi gain replacements that I had in my parts drawer worked just fine. The design is sound and quite robust. I too have an older Solar Cap tester a CBB 60 if my memory is any good, it uses an eye tube as well and it does not come close to detecting the leaks in anything close to what you have designed here. This little device will greatly release my stress in the rebuild / restoration of this Dominion Electrohome Z93A 86 D 1940 radio receiver, that my neighbor has asked if I'd do. 73, VA7MNV
