I could have used some thing like this and still can so many times ..! troubleshooting simple ECM / ECU's on construction equip, cars & trucks Alternators, ... Heck, My stereo and printer(s), the wife's 2 laptop Mb's (I bought) ....Everything has a pattern, we used the old 'SUN Scope' to look at ignition patterns and now we use pressure sensors connected to a scope and there are good patterns to compare with .... Diagnosing vehicles has changed as much (or more) than anything I've seen. I started when the radio was the only part of a car that was electronic.
