Awards Shipped & Behind-the-Scenes Video: What We Bought in Taiwan

Hey everyone,

First, quick note: We just shipped Patreon award cubes, so you'll get emails notifying you of the shipment in the next day or so.

It's been a hard few weeks for the team with the travel coinciding with international events. I typically give the team about 2 weeks off after traveling to Asia (since it's non-stop work while there), and that's partly because we stockpile content that I can keep publishing without any assistance for a few weeks. It's a good opportunity for me to slow down and for them to take a break after hard work for weeks on end. This time, unfortunately, we encountered one scenario that I hadn't really modeled: I never expected we'd be competing on a global scale with a news event that dominated coverage 24/7 and took everybody's complete attention. After seeing a hard views dip (we spoke with some other YouTubers you all know, and many of them witnessed the same), we decided to stop publishing content from Taiwan for a little while. That's because we didn't want to burn through some of our hardest-fought content in a time when we were fighting against a much bigger news item.

So, we shifted gears, I pulled everyone back into the office, and we made the pieces you've seen in this past week. We've had a strong views recovery and the team did amazing work to get us back on track with successful content, but it wasn't an easy fight since we had to completely shuffle our schedule.

Anyway, we've noticed over the past few days that things are starting to normalize -- maybe people are getting bored of unending human malware coverage, or something, and are trying to find escape in other stuff. Either way, it's looking like we may have a window to publish some of our factory tours soon. This video is to give our direct supporters (especially in this economically trying time for the world) a look at some upcoming content. Patrick and I did a shopping challenge in Guanghua Digital Plaza in Taipei. That content won't be live for a while on the main channel, but we pulled 3 of our favorite things we found while there to show you all in advance.

Enjoy! Thank you again for your tremendous support, and thank you for the patience on the shipments, for those of you who are higher tier backers.

- Steve

Definitely looking forward to seeing what those cpus are & how much they cost you & being very paitent for thr rest of the factory tours (honest) 😉👍👍

Got a pitch for a video that came to me watching the Trillion Core video - Do a Bildzoid motherboard analysis of an old Socket 7 motherboard. I don't think "the young people" have any idea what motherboards used to be like or even how much of those "ancient" motherboards carries over to today. Just a thought :)

so half the answer to "what's with all those processors?"

Honestly, the thing that determines how bad you should feel about buying Gundam models is the coolness to price ratio. If you spend too much for a boring looking Gunpla, then you goofed hard.

Why is the Asus Dominus 3647 board out? Is this for Tuesday?

The factory tours are the sort of thing that I think will be kinda boring, but I end up glued to the screen! So fantastically done. Good luck and look after yourselves!

I'm watching all your videos as always! Hope to see more factory tours soon

Looks like you guys spent some time in the older stores in the basements of Guanghua. So many interesting things down there

Don't feel bad Patrick I spent way more at the Gundam store in Japan
