Behind the Scenes: Building A Fan Testing Device

We worked with industry engineers to build our own fan testing devices. The newest one is a hand-soldered circuit that allows us to manually control fan speeds; we didn't like the accuracy of fan controllers on the market, and so engineered our own that can be custom tuned for anything we're testing, and also pipes through an oscilloscope for accurate readouts and reporting to software. This then hooks up to a wind tunnel and an anemometer for CFM metrics, which are calculated via a spreadsheet (because the wind tunnel has a known volume).
We're really getting moving on this stuff now! This was our big holdup.
