GN Behind-the-Scenes #3! Things cut in half at CES

Hi all!

This BTS #3 video is one of the ones that'll go public on the GNSteve channel eventually, but you're getting way earlier access to it. The video shows some behind-the-scenes stuff that we saw at CES 2018 -- things that won't make it into any/many of our videos, as it's outside of our coverage scope, but still really cool technology. We've got some robots, automation, self-driving cars, audio gear, and lots of things cut in half, which is always educational.

Oh, and Google's ad on the monorail: "Hey Glooglel."

Oops.

Enjoy! We're sticking with the ~2x / mo cadence on BTS vlogs. Hope you enjoyed!

Hey Steve, in an unrelated note -- can cryptocurrency miners give us any useful info about GPU model reliability? It seems like they are effectively compressing the lifetime of the card into short period. Like many of your viewers, I'm often asked by friends & family to spec them a machine which will last 5 years (especially at today's prices!) It would be nice to know which card model stands the best chance of not having a fan failure or other reliability problem over that period. The miners probably collect and share that info somewhere. They can't afford to have cards regularly out of service due to fan failure.

Thanks! Like I said, didn't see that one in person!

I saw that Toyota future car in the movie Demolition Man with Sylvester Stallone, Sandra Bullock, and Wesley Snipes. So, technically it's an early 90's version of a future care. ;D

That isn't a hologram. Those are fans with LED's on them. And they cost about $3K each, but apparently offer high resolution... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VuPJoixToBM&t=

I figured Audio Tech would have gone out of business along with Radio shack, I had thought Audio technica was a RS brand back in the day, wow. Great vid GN crew B)
