UltraWide Benchmark!
Added 2016-02-16 04:23:44 +0000 UTCWe /MIGHT/ be doing more of these UltraWide tests with CPUs or other graphics settings. For now, however, let this serve as our first major test for 3440x1440 resolution gaming. A big undertaking, but lots of fun.
Generally, it appears that UW resolutions are much more playable than we initially hypothesized. If you're willing to sacrifice some graphics quality, getting by on mid-range cards is not unreasonable. Granted, few people would buy a $700-$1000+ monitor and throw a 960 into the rig.
We separately validated our test methodology using giant thermal chambers last week, something I'll soon be explaining in a video!
