What We're Working On & Outtakes Reel

First off, our sincerest thanks for supporting our approach to objective journalism. It has become increasingly difficult to monetize long-form journalism by way of advertising -- we understand why, too, but that doesn't make it easier -- and support systems like Patreon look to be the way of the future. We hope that, with ongoing support from readers, we can build a strong userbase of supporters that mitigate our dependency on traditional advertising. This stuff is more than a full-time job for me, and I've got people to pay, too -- we've been working hard to build content and revenue without sacrificing much from either.
Anyway, some news.
We promised that Patrons / subscribers would receive access to special outtakes reels. Sure, it's not special hardware coverage -- but there's some funny stuff in there. Lots of hair-flips. Lots of swearing and accidentally knocking over $650 video cards. That's on the way; we're hoping to have one up after PAX.
Oops.
Content-wise, we just wrapped our first two CPU reviews (Skylake & 7870K, both online) and are now working on a series of case & cooler reviews. I've just pulled-on a new hire to assist with testing, so that should accelerate content production. Keegan has been killing it with video editing and film, as always, and we just invested in a fancy tripod head with fluid motion for higher-quality b-roll.
PAX Prime is at the end of the month, so I've been booking meetings for that. We'll have coverage live on the show floor, as we have had for several years.
