UNDERSIDE PLAYEST: Update 1.1
Added 2025-08-30 11:32:52 +0000 UTChi everyone! the first month of playtesting has been extremely fruitful, and i put out the playtest's first revision a few days ago--i posted about it in the playtest discord but not everyone keeping tabs on underside is there so i figure i should post the changelog here too:
GENERAL
Clarified a few things that weren't stated in the rules (starting Leverage on Anchors, what happens if you roll two sixes on a 0d roll, how to change Leader Rep and Modus Operandi)
Fixed various typos, mathematical errors, and formatting issues.
SESSION ZERO
Replaced 'the blacklist' with 'editorial standards', a variation on Jay Dragon's Palette Grid, to make it easier for groups who want to step into potentially risky or fraught territory while still being cautious with each other's feelings and comfort.
Changed the verbiage around taking a back seat during your power creation to be a bit lighter to reflect the fact that in practice you'll usually end up interjecting and commenting
Added guidance for the Administrator on facilitating power creation and keeping track of time
Adjusted origins to have a bullet-point format consisting of Concept, Character, Context, and Color, to make them easier to both put together and scan for relevant elements
Added worked examples for the Power Index
Added Trauma Conditions to character creation
OTHER
Updated the 'Cover Someone' move so the outcomes make sense in some scenarios where they previously didn't
Added a guide to Trick Cards and creating them to the Combat and Standoff chapters
Added a worked example of putting together Trick Cards to the Standoff chapter
you can get your hands on the updated playtest doc on the same post i originally posted the playtest to. after a few more updates to iron out the session zero experience i'm going to start shilling the playtest harder: shout out to everyone currently playing it, your feedback has been extremely useful.
