Comments

Oh No, it’s okay! 💖😭 it’s normally 1-2 episodes of Boys Planet per week!

Nia & Alex

sorry if I'm being annoying, I just love your guys' reaction and wanted to know what the schedule was for boys planet.

odania innocent

btw if i remember correctly the rankings (where they stood and picked the songs for this challenge) was based on views on the fancams of the signal song "Here I Am" so naturally hui got #1 since people knew him from pentagon and wanted to see how well he did. jiwoong was an actor and had fan support so he was #2, hanbin was gaining popularity at the time for being the killing part in the signal song that's why he was #3 in views, etc. on the g group side donghai got a lot of support from vietnamese fans who wanted to see a fellow vietnamese so he was #1 in fancam views, anthonny got a lot of support from filipino fans who wanted to see a fellow filipino's fancam, keita was in a debuted group and was gaining popularity so people also watched his fancam a lot. and so on. as you can see a lot of the top 9 in the fancam ranking were because people streamed their faves' fancam because they were curious about their country's trainees on the show or they were a more known trainee among fans and non fans of the show (debuted trainees or well known trainees). so that explains a bit why sung hanbin and zhang hao, although both the best from each K and G side, did not get as many views because they were "unknown" trainees and just got known for being the K and G centers at the time the fancams were uploaded. just thought i would give more context to the whole fancam ranking situation.

bella

just a quick question: whats the schedule for boys planet upload?

odania innocent

I agree with your opinion but I think that no one else could’ve done the main rapper part as well as keita did. When we heard min rap the first part of the rap, he didn’t sound like he could’ve done as well as keita did. I do agree that he could’ve at least got sub rapper 1 but would he have given better energy than kuanjui? that’s the question.

I just wanted to fill yall in about Gunwook. When he was around 15 he was on another survival show called wild idol where they had to push logs and do army shit in the dessert it was crazy. He didn’t debut but his rap was chosen for the signal song and during boys planet he came across as greedy sometimes but he just wanted to do well and learn from his mistakes as this was his final chance. He may have lost during kill this love but it got him attention and he plotted well LOL

Thank you so much for the reactions, 4 hours is a long time my god 😭 but it's really fun 🤍 here are just some of thoughts I know you didn't ask for 🤭 I think at this point during the show, nobody really knew who sung hanbin was. He didn't have much of a fanbase he was still a pretty new face in the show and industry, he was just a trainee like all the others unlike Hui, Keita or Jiwoong who actually did have fanbases front their previous activities in the public eye. But despite that, he still won everyone's hearts right from the start. Mostly because I think everyone saw an inner devotion and like "he was born for this" kind of spark in him. He also got a lot of screentime right from the start so it was just easy for people to root for him since there's nothing negative to say about him. He can sing, he can dance, he's super nice and handsome too. He's a perfect person to be an idol. About Wumuti backing out of the main vocal part, I genuinely don't think it was a wrong intention from him. He was honest and voiced out his feelings about feeling pressured. And Wumuti is a great singer but compared to Jay, it just makes sense to switch the part. The killing part isn't the person who does best, nor the best part of the song in general. It just guarantees a striking moment in the song that can catch the audience's eye but it could also be a total fail if you mess up. Jay might have wanted the main vocal part too which could explain why he gave it up so easily.

Mélissa Jay

just keep in mind that a lot of these companies send their trainee to Boys Planet to gain some fans

In the Kill This Love G performance, it felt like Keita was overly greedy, taking the main rapper and killing part, which both had a large portion of screen time and time to show his talent. Keita should have picked one or the other and let Min have the unchosen. Min really got screwed in the first mission. Doubling sounds and rapping three words is not a part compared to the other five member parts, so it was not fair to him. So, to be honest, I started disliking Keita a bit after the first mission.

Just letting you guys know that at the time boys planet had its first episode the signal song had already be released on YouTube as well as the fan cams. At that point we hardly knew anything about most of these boys (except ones who had already debuted or in Jay’s case had become viral because of his livestreams with Beomhan) apart from what had been found out on twitter. We didn’t know their rankings at all. The rankings were based on the views of the fancams so when one of the trainees stood out to someone they immediately went to their fancam and would keep going back. Hence why someone with no stars was able to rank that high in popularity. Donghai (sorry if I’ve spelt that wrong but basically the guy who was no.1 popularity in G group) was very captivating in the signal test and he name popular amongst boysplanet fans at the time not only due to his good looks but also because his performance was actually really good! Yes a lot of the voting was done with peoples favourites in mind but throughout boys planet the majority of fans watching and voting were way more focused on wanting talent to be the focus of the group rather than going with the popularity votes. In the end a lot of the people who ended up being fan favourites were ones who were extremely talented, but you’ll figure that out as the show progresses. The fan voting was actually way more fair that most previous survival shows tbh. Mnet had to literally create girlsplanet999 and boysplanet because their produce series (especially the produceX101 season) was under massive fire for having rigged voting. The planet series is their revival and peace offering to the fans of those shows. I know I for one was wayyyyy more happier with the way voting was done this time because I was an avid watcher of produce and I’m now an avid watcher of the planet series

My personal opinions on the performances 1. Very nice group: I personally think K group did a little better, it was basically a battle between the main vocalists. I still think they did junghyeon kinda dirty by not changing his part but im sure it was just because none of them had enough confidence to do that part. 2. Kill this love group: well g group were my no 1 group this entire battle! They had good dancers, vocals, rappers, literally everything! In k group, they all did well especially gunwook but it was a shame that hwanhee’s throat was not in a good condition. one of the saddest things to me is that mnet gave no screentime to the up10tion members hwanhee and dongyeol because of what happened with the previous male survival show they had. wooseok and jinhyuk who are from the same group participated and both ended up debuting in x1 (produce x 101) but jinhyuk was rigged out! so it caused them to shut down everything and restart with girls planet. 3. Love me right: im not spoiling this one since you guys haven’t watched k group but g group did so good! Jay was a stunner in this performance and his voice is like honeyyy. i find myself agreeing with nia a lot in this episode, just because i do think it's obvious group k didnt practice a lot. they're still trainees and adapting to this, while hui is a pro idol. he sounds good in comparison but he does too much in that scene, not mixing well with the other members. but the other members are also at fault for not practicing a lot, this is only at the start though, so obviously they get better.

juyont

seeing you both argue about if jay should be the killing part or main vocal was too funny LOL i agree with nia that wumuti did a good job as a leader for making jay the main vocal. i know killing part sounds fancy and a lot of trainees want to do it, but let me tell you this, it really doesn't matter in the long run. having a killing part isn't an instant first place or win in the team, most of the time, the most popular member will get the most votes despite not having a killing part. main vocal definitely helped jay shine a lot more than if he did the killing part.

juyont

i think your comment got cut 😭

juyont

for the issue with backdoor g team, there were miscommunications with them but it wasn't as bad as it seemed. it was edited heavily to make krystian seem like an ass, when they actually had onsite translators. kamden actually went for main rapper, which i think he got in the end. the two other guys were talking about who should do sub rapper 1, which is why you guys got confused. this type of evil editing is what im talking about, editing trainees in a malicious way (not the funny roasting) which is just as bad as manipulating votes. mnet already got exposed for manipulating and rigging votes for three seasons straight so they had to do something that was legal 😭

juyont

jay is not only in a kpop group, One Pact, he is also in a vocal group, BDU

kerene nyelele

in the original produce series (before it was renamed to girls planet and boys planet), the method they used to pick the artist they wanted to cover was actually a race! the team representative would run for the team and they would fight over the stands with the artist they wanted. it was soooo fun to watch and such a nice tradition back then but they got rid of it in boys planet which is why the trainees were confused 😭

juyont

i definitely agree with alex about the fan voting in boys planet not picking the most talented but more about who they liked. although zb1 is a very balanced group with talented trainees, i was surprised to see how most of them were already popular and had high rankings since the start. in another mnet survival show, produce x 101, there were multiple trainees that started at x rank (no stars) and ended up getting higher ranking, becoming underdogs. most of the popular trainees at the start of that show didn't end up debuting and there was people that were in rank 60 in the first ep that debuted in the final group because they were given a chance to shine! (it was rigged but only a few members were rigged in).

juyont

ahhh so excited to watch this one! the first battle is so exciting and stressful at the same time! i would recommend you guys to maybe note down the trainees you both like and then by the 12th episode, create an ideal top 9. this is the easiest and most fun way to watch it after voting was over 🫶

juyont

Jay is actually in a group called one pact with yedam, jongwoo, seonming from Boys planet as well as another member named Tag who was supposed to be on boys planet

Zakiiyah Alexander

Please don't fall for Mnet's evil editing btw. They have a reputation for editing their survival shows dramatically in a way that makes people look bad, especially foreign members. It's a known fact which is why we don't judge these young boys harshly when they're edited to seem arrogant or rude. Also take into consideration that these boys train for years to debut so they are in a stressful environment which can negatively affect them and us, as an audience, may see it as them being arrogant but to them this is their future on the line. We can't really judge them since most of them are stressed out teenagers who are being evil-edited by Mnet. If you watch any other survival shows by them you'll understand.

Euphoric_dusk

i always thought the k group vs g group thing was a little ridiculous too, especially since they're gonna end up in the same group anyway. but mnet needs to make things dramatic of course lol

oddinry

i know yall wondering why Jay didn't debut

Ale

Haha yess it’s a long one! 😭❤️ we had a LOT to say! thank you we love watching with you guys! 💖

Nia & Alex

You should def check out peak time as well it’s really good

Zakiiyah Alexander

Yes that is Hwang Minhyun, one of the solo artists in Hybe game caterers. He was in the boygroups Nu'est and Wanna One. And dw they will stop the entire K vs G battle soon. Also the reason the "Kill this love" team has 6 members for Group G but only 5 members for group K is because one of the trainees had to drop out due to personal reasons.

Euphoric_dusk

omg a 4 hour+ reaction, I am here for it 😂 you guys always make my day ❤️ thank you for being your awesome selves
