just to clarify, hwanhee and dongyeol are from up10tion which actually debuted before pentagon, so they're hui's seniors in the industry. and up10tion has been active pretty much that whole time so it's not exactly true to say they have less experience. hui was still the most prominent trainee on the show though because pentagon is more well known, from a bigger company, and notably because he wrote wanna one's debut song, energetic, so he was already connected to the produce/planet shows in that way.

While we know that Hui doesn't make it into ZB1, when Boys Planet was airing it was a very real possibility. He wasn't on the show just as an example for the other trainees, he was trying to legitimately win. A lot of the other trainees on Boys Planet have already debuted before as well, although in groups much less well known than Pentagon, and they also have much less actual experience than Hui (Seowon, Seongmin, Woongki, Hwanhee, Dongyeol, just to name a few.) Boys Planet is a Mnet survival show just like the old Produce 101 series was and in Produce 101 all of the members of a group called NU'EST joined the show, and one of the members named Minhyun actually made it in the group (WannaOne). So it has happened in the past and could have happened again with ZB1, especially considering the entire lineup of ZB1 was determined by the viewers and fans of the show voting as the show went on. Since Hui already had a dedicated fanbase he technically had a major advantage, and everyone was incredibly surprised he didn't end up in the final lineup. Since Zb1 is only a temporary group just like WannaOne was, Hui would have been able to go back to Pentagon after the contract for ZB1 was over just like Minhyun did with his group. Just wanted to share since y'all seemed so adamant that Hui was only there to be a role model to the other trainees π

If they have βindependent traineeβ, that means they have no company backing them. Also some companies showed were large companies during 2/3 gen. Jellyfish debuted vixx and verivery. Woolim has iconic dance kings infinite and golden child. FNC has the sexy concept queens AOA and also SF9 and bands CNBLUE+Ft Island!
