I planned to work on this v010a build a few days more but when i look at the date I realized that this month only has 28 days lol What's new: - Yuria's Piggyback sleeper now has somersault kick combo - Pick up downed opponent, press D key on downed opponent. Works on both facing up and down state! - Meridian can counter now (only against body knee grapple) - Dodge, press D followed with movement key - Block, press D, currently only the animation is implemented. It's not functional yet Optimization: I noticed that occasionally the game freeze for like 1 second. It usually happen during Taiga's front grapple, Meridian's ground, & back grapple. This has been bugging my mind for months. Recently i helped a fellow game dev whose game suffered from a long freeze that occasionally lead to a crash. It seems that he cause is the same as the freeze in my game. If you also experience this freeze in the past hopefully the game runs much better now. There are more optimization planned next month and hopefully this will eliminate the freeze 100%. Difficulty settings didn't make it to this month's build. Hopefully next month, along with Meridian's Pick Up action and other stuff. that's a good idea and people will not confuse it with HP bar but i didn't know how to program a cricle timer with Pixel Game Maker MV sadly T__T. I'll try to find a way but if i can't, I'll keep your idea about making it different from the life bar in mind. if i fail to make the timer different, i probably will change the life bar instead lol. like making it appear in fixed location like most beatemup/fighting games

The backwards dodge takes some getting used to but it's ok. If you know how to handle it, you can do it. I see now ^^; I thought the bar might have been simply a "problem" of the current build. Since I follow your game from the beginning, I know about it being time base and I have the timing down in most of the cases. So I didn't pay too much attention to the bar. Hm. The timing is pretty tight so most "loading bars" or other symbols will be vanishing fast. It is hard to choose something for this. I think whatever you pick should look different from the life bar to show that it is about something else. Other than that... You most likely have free reign to pick whatever idea you want. Colour-coding could help. Here is an idea https://imgur.com/8uw8X0b You could use something like that or make it smoother or simpler or choose something else entirely.

for dodge, you need to press the dodge button first, then you press the back button. If you press back button first you ended moving backward instead. Dodging upward or downward is easier since there is no rule which need to be pressed first, any order works. So for anyone that has trouble dodging backward, consider dodging upward/downward instead. Also let me know if anyone has better idea how to implement this! about that additional "life bar", it's actually grapple timer lol. To let people know that the grapple is timing based instead of button mashing. Press button when the yellow bar appear, if it's turned purple you're late. Any idea how to make it's purpose more obvious lol?

I finally got to play it for multiple rounds. The game runs smoothly and it is nice to hear of your progress. Seeing Yuria's athletic side is nice. The dodge is a bit hard to do but I got used to it so that's fine. I haven't seen anything that you don't know about, I think. The thing that sticks out is the extra "life bar" that appears on some grabs. But you know that one since it is in your screenshot. (Sometimes it was purple though.) I had fun playing it. Thanks for sharing your progress.
