Artist Reference Sheets (1)

I’ve started putting together some reference sheets! Mostly as practice for myself, but also for my Patron’s to access.

I’ll be adding more sheets over time as I continue with the studies, but if there is anything in particular you’d like to see, then lemme know!

Rules for using these sheets:

Patron’s may use these sheets for reference and studies - tracing is permitted, and credit isn’t needed! They’re here to use however helps you best.

Please do not save and share these sheets outside of Patreon, for I am a dragon hoarding my foot treasures.

Oh, enter sends whoops! I think you’re better working from references to begin with - taking photos of your own hands can be really helpful, and just as easily posable as a mannequin itself!

I personally think mannequins are most useful once you have a bit of a grasp on the structure of the hand. The issue with mannequins, whether hand or body, is they don’t necessarily give you a good understanding of the muscles, tendons, and the squishy fleshy bits that make a hand look like a convincing hand.

Thank you for this! Question: do you use hand mannequins? Maybe now you don’t need them but I’m wondering if back when you were getting better at this you found out they helped you… any tips are welcome! Thank you so much again for posting these :)
