"Simple to Make" 1940s Tops? | Simplicity 8593 Reproduction Pattern Review & Tutorial

Good news! After many delays and much procrastination I finally finished these stupid blouses I started in January.

And I finally photographed them - which meant I could ditch the purple hair! I'm feeling much better as a blue-head.

I wish I felt as good about these blouses as I do the new hair, but alas they have some issues due to the way they are drafted. I wasn't a huge fan of the instructions either. But I did get them done, and I share my final thoughts at the end of the video.

Have you followed this pattern? Or would you consider following it? I'd love to hear about it!

REally liked this video, but it seemed really rushed...don't know why it seemed that way, but it did to me. I thought they came out cute, but I agree the ties were too much work with all of the hand sewing. I'd do them by machine. I agree also on the front dart issue. Thanks so much!

I thoroughly enjoyed your style of pattern review! You evaluated methods shown versus other methods or ways to make it accessible for beginners or busy people lol, and you still did a walk through with multiple options and ended up with the cutest blouses!! A lot to cram into a short video but I love the no fuss attitude, and I hope you had fun making them! Cotton is my favorite to work in because it's so forgiving ALSO, BLUE HAIR LOOKS GREAT ON YOU! and the measuring tape top with the bow is divine
