The 2016 boom was seen as an anomaly, obviously due to Pokémon Go. Was anyone afterwards expecting or talking about a 2nd run-up on the market? Then the 2020 boom occurred, thanks to a multitude of factors. Now that we have 2 separate occurrences in time leading to huge market movement, people are speculating on a 3rd bull run and even using phrases like “when the next boom happens” etc. I believe this creates a self fulfilling prophecy of sorts, and people no longer see it as a if, but as a when. The market memory and confidence that this will happen again, will in fact increase the likelihood of such an event occurring. Whether it’s from a VR game, a live action Netflix show, 30th anniversary etc. What are your thoughts on this idea of a self fulfilling prophecy?
