Hey fellas. I’m struggling to want to hold onto parts of my collection that I can get back with somewhat ease because it seems like dead money compared to what I can churn through with that cash. Example I just sold my base jungle fossil unlimited holo & rare complete set psa 8-9 for which I got about 10k (inflated aussie prices). I spent most of this on Buyee this week in which I expect to at least double that capital over the next 6-8 months (grading times). How do you justify keeping money tied up in collections - or does it really come down to how you collect.

2022-02-20 21:53:07 +0000 UTCHello guys, well done for the amount of work you put into these discussions. I've read that in a well balanced portfolio, about 10% can be dedicated to speculative assets, like cards (if the investor is already financially established). But I'm sure most of us in this group have more thant 10% in cards ha ha ! I wanted to have your opinion on that matter, do you consider the weight of your cards in your general portfolio when investing in Pokemon ? Do you evaluate the risk you take buying cards for long term VS investing this money in the market ? Because cards are also a great tool to "beat the market" and have far better returns than investing in a S&P500 for example, but it might also never happen (again). My question is more for individual investors, but happy to hear also how you view it from a business perspective :) Thanks !
