What is your opinion about Weight Gain stages with/without story events
Added 2023-06-05 20:37:28 +0000 UTCThere is a bit of a dilemma I have in regards to new weight gain stages and story events.
This is a weight gain game, so I expect most people to want to see the characters grow bigger. But I have been holding on to higher stages for some characters because I want them to also have story to go along with the new stages.
Is story alongside new weight gain stages something that should always be there?
Do you not care about story and do you just want to see the characters grow?

Story break ups make it obvious you've moved to the next stage. Much more enjoyable than watching like a hawk for any small changes. Especially early on

2023-06-20 17:01:13 +0000 UTCI am definitely looking forward to Daisy and whichever version of steamer persona turning into massive ladies. I very much enjoy the story but I'm totally cool with that being filled in later to see higher growth stages early

2023-06-06 19:43:46 +0000 UTCI definitely prefer every stage having story, but I don't think it's necessary for any smaller side characters who you don't intend to have much focus on. However, I think it's totally fine if a girl's gain doesn't have story associated with it immediately but will down the line. Such as Trista and Katrine having 10 stages but only story for 7 or so of them. Knowing that story is coming for those stages down the line makes the current lack of story totally fine.

2023-06-06 18:33:48 +0000 UTCPersonally I think story is nice, especially to begin with, but once the gals get rolling (haha pun) a few stages here and there without hard story or necessarily player force makes sense; Daisy, Bonnie, or the Hospital Gals for instance don't seem the types to really put the breaks on and stop the train once it's started going. I figure they're liable to stuff themselves and even without us after a certain point of encouragement.

2023-06-06 10:00:53 +0000 UTCI enjoy all the stories so far (and very much so!) but if it helps to get Daisy to stage 21+ quicker (want to see her much heavier in that ass-showing pose in class!) I am fine with just having the stages and get the story and events for those stages at a later point in the development. - But eventually I prefer to have events for all (or at least most of the) stages (for all girls).

2023-06-06 09:36:41 +0000 UTCThe writing team is actually not the bottleneck here. It's me doing the visuals for the story events that is the slowest cog in the chain.

2023-06-06 05:31:30 +0000 UTCI love the story, but I wouldn't mind a little bit of seeing them grow, but still want the story while they grow as I like their reactions to it.

2023-06-06 04:31:34 +0000 UTCI love the story events but it would be cool to see like maybe they stop caring caring about their gain so much at later stages so it has to be a bigger change before they get a new event

2023-06-06 03:09:59 +0000 UTCPersonally I love the story events. And I have to say this game is by far the best out there 🤩

2023-06-06 02:54:11 +0000 UTCI feel that you don’t need a story event for every stage. The writers have been doing a great job and I love ever time a new story comes up because they seem to eat a little more then the regular reoccurring events. There is just so much more you have planned I just hope you don’t get overwhelmed. By my count there are still 6 more girls that you will be adding, the 3 classmates, Mylenne, Rebecca, and the new tall one. That’s not including if you decide to have the hospital staff separate from Luna’s story line. It would be nice to get to the point where you don’t need to restart from the beginning but I don’t see that happening for quite sometime and if you go with adding more stages and adding story to them later I don’t see having saves rollover ever happening. I think this game is great, probably will be the greatest WG game out there when it’s all said and done. That being said I’m in it for the long haul if you need to build a solid foundation before getting into bigger stages I’ll be happily waiting for everything you have planned. Keep up the amazing job.

2023-06-05 23:39:27 +0000 UTCfor me personally it doesn't have to be a full story event, aslong as there is a clear indicator that they have grown, either event , dialogue indicator or different outfit.

2023-06-05 23:33:41 +0000 UTCHappy either way, but for having a few ( 1-3)stages ahead for inspiration for organic stories fans, writers or devs to come up with to inspire new events.

2023-06-05 23:27:32 +0000 UTCI enjoy seeing growth more than story but you've done a great job of including story with everything so far. Personally, I'd be cool with seeing a new stage with just a little blurb or two mentioning their new weight. I don't think story is needed for every stage. You could focus more on who you'd consider the main characters and have the side characters have less story if you felt like you were being pulled in too many directions. Either way, the content you put out is great so I'll be happy with whatever you decide.

2023-06-05 21:53:13 +0000 UTCYou're free to just add story in later updates if you want to. Things take time and I get that writing can be stressful on the team or things may not just be ready yet.

2023-06-05 21:31:47 +0000 UTCI like option 3 the most. The option to grow the ladies to our heart's content without waiting for a story chapter gives a nice amount of freedom. Players still have the option of forgoing a character's continued gain if they'd rather wait for a story.

2023-06-05 21:25:35 +0000 UTCMaybe you could add story in the far future as the game is finished. But I think as is, most weight gain stages should have a story event. But not all of them. Maybe like a quick nod and that’s it

2023-06-05 21:10:21 +0000 UTCI think the second option is best as it seems like a nice balance. The focused characters for the specific update can have most of their story content for their stages with maybe an extra stage or two beyond the current story to build hype for their next story segment (Trista for example). This also let's you use additional stages for girls not heavily featured in the update as "teaser" content for favorite characters that we haven't seen get a bigger max size in a while. Like say Luna, Leanne, or Bonnie who are all favorites haven't gotten any new stages in a while? Easy, toss them an extra stage or two beyond their current max to hold over their fans until their next "featured" story update. It would essentially let you focus an update on a handful of characters to really heavily go into with multiple stages and fleshed out story while also maybe throwing an additional stage or two here and there at non featured characters to keep fans of those characters happy and build up hype for their next story segments. Seems like a best of both worlds scenario imo as everyone would get some content for their favorite characters even if it only may be one extra stage.

2023-06-05 21:01:42 +0000 UTCI like that the story stuff shows in a big way that you're moving forwards, but especially on some of the more subtle stage shifts we don't need big story beats. The only event/size related complaint I've ever had was katrine, where for whatever reason it felt like she lost weight when getting naked. This was before the katrine overhaul.

2023-06-05 21:00:10 +0000 UTCYou've had an awesome track record with this, so it doesn't apply as much to you specifically, especially since you have some help on the project. But people are always going to tell you they want to see more progression with WG content. And there are quite a few devs that put out unfinished content or forego finishing some content in order to keep that progression happening. But you won't always be able to have progression happen every update and eventually have to go back and add in the missing or unfinished aspects to your game. Every dev that develops this way does it eventually where they have at least one release with no new weight stages that tries to flesh out the unfinished content (normally from my experience often unable to meet their goals to cram in as much of the unfinished content as they want due to time constraints.) My question to you is with the current way you are developing with the help of other writers do you create more work for yourself to add in temporary stage content that is largely placeholder for you to have to rework it later when story and other aspects get caught up to it. Similar to how a lot of the girls that have had story content added (or most recently Trista and Katrine) feel to me. From my perspective as someone who is not associated with development it seems like there has to be placeholder content added and then it's reworked in order to facilitate the final story route. I'm not sure how this actually is for you or how much effort and time that takes but I don't think things like this are concerns for most people as they are generally always going to want to see more and higher weight stages when asked so, in my opinion. I think doing what makes the most sense for development and not creating longer or more difficult development periods between updates will make the most sense to me regardless of my personal feelings of if I want to see bigger girls more quickly or not.

2023-06-05 20:55:58 +0000 UTCHaving them visibly gain weight outside of the story also has its own draw to it ya know. Seeing them again and thinking "wait, are they bigger than they were last time?" would be a neat thing to have on occasion. If you wanted to make it more obvious you could have one new line of dialog mentioning it or whatever but doesn't have to be a full story event every single time imo. We are shoving as much food into them as we can after all!

2023-06-05 20:53:00 +0000 UTCI think new developments in each girl's story enhances the impact of their weight gain and keeps the game from getting stale, but I wouldn't say it's always necessary. I mean, by the time the growth is that noticeable you'd think something would happen to call attention to it, realistically-speaking. But seeing the girls grow is also good enough, especially when the repeatable events have been so great, and of course we aren't exactly concerned about everything being "realistic" lol

2023-06-05 20:45:53 +0000 UTCI think most makes sense. At least for now? You can always add stories to them later on too and just let people know that in order to receive the full experience, they should make a new save. I had to do that for the recent update becuase the girl other than Trista gained a massive amount of weight instantly from all the food I've been feeding her before the update.. Sorry for the ramble :]
