The game was intense from start to finish. The minute's restriction is proving to be something that gives teams we're facing an edge. We've beaten the Bucks with my minute's restriction is fantastic.
I'm reading texts from Hannah and Ellie as I wait for the media room to prepare for me. Mom is very happy about my win. I know she wants to be here, but she can't be here for all my games. She's got a life of her own now.
"They're ready for you."
Our team's media handler comes out for me. I place my phone in my pocket and make my way inside. Taking a seat as I hear some camera flutters. There is a sheet of paper in front of me, telling me my stats for the night.
Everyone that has a seat in the room sits down, and hands start to fly up. I call on someone from the back of the room, and they stand up to speak.
"Daniel Rodgers, ESPN."
This is the part I don't like about being an NBA Superstar. The social media aspect of the game. It's a really toxic part of the game that I don't like to entertain.
"You scored 54 points tonight. That's three games in a row where you've scored an excess amount of points and didn't miss a shot. Is this sustainable for you, and given you're on minutes restriction now, do you think you can take it?"
That's a stupid question.
"Yes."
My simple answer irritates the man, and I don't blame him. I sigh and lean back for a second.
"If you want better answers, ask better questions."
While NBA contracts state I have to have a relationship with the media, it doesn't say I have to have a good one. More hands shoot up, and I pick someone in the middle this time. She stands up and parts her hair slightly.
"Rebecca Jones, Sportscenter."
I really don't see the point of them introducing themselves.
"You've got a long stretch of away games and some back-to-back games in cities across the country. How do you see the next stretch of games playing out?"
Not a bad question, but not a good one either.
"There is no such thing as an 82-0 team. The closest anyone has gotten is 73-9, and they lost in the finals. As to what I think, everyone should tune it. Cause it'll be a show, for sure."
That seems to bring up the mood of the reporters a bit. This is gonna be a long interview.

"Giannis is a great player, but we're in an age of shooters. Giannis doesn't have a long-range shot. It makes him a liability on the offensive end. Surrounding him with shooters is a good plan, but they can double-team the best shooters when he's behind the arc."
My son answers the rather rude question about how Giannis' weaknesses were exposed tonight. It's not in Ulysses's nature to insult someone off the court. When it's on the court, it's a different story.
He won't be coming home for around a week since all the games are road games. But after that stretch, he'll have four home games. I'm excited for when it comes home.
"Where do you rank the Knicks in the NBA?"
That is another stupid question. He has to deal with this on an almost daily basis. One part of being a great athlete is fame.
"We're the top in the East."
I can't help chuckling a little. He's being very hot and cold with them tonight. Engaging in good questions and almost dismissing bad ones. Tonight's game and the game the day after tomorrow are broadcasted. Meaning they are and will be on national networks.
Hannah walks back into the living room with a plate of food. A bowl of chips for me to also partake in.
She sits down, and I can see she's missing Ulysses badly. They're a close couple, and there are many mornings she comes out glowing. I suspect they spend a lot of time between the sheets. Not that it's any of my business.
But it shows that I need a man too
