The Next Destination (Book 2) (Page 196)

The unique color and views while using The Genesis Dimension put me at ease. It's one of the most beautiful things to experience and is exclusive to Immortalitas. A Primordium Dreadnaught. The last of its kind.
Aurora is traversing the trans-galactic communications network. Finding out information regarding Players and what they've found out so far.
My mind drifts to The Primeval Inherent and what it's really planning. It could make several moves to flush me out and do exactly what it needs to get possession of me. The only thing I can think of with the limited information is something bigger is going on.
"What are we exactly planning? The Playerbase isn't something we can influence openly. Given that, why are we heading to a system located in The Haedrex Galaxy? Near one of the busiest systems out there?"
Durado's concerns are warranted if we had an ordinary ship, but there are several lifeless systems where we're heading. The system we're going to is named Kelera, and it's about 10 lightyears from Xeezar.
Xeezar is a solar system rich, powerful, and filled with inhabitable worlds. It's number 8 in terms of popularity among Players. Its high player count will allow me to do what I need to do. With Bree leaking the information I wanted; I shouldn't have much trouble.
"Kelera is a dead solar system with nothing of value. Not even mining. It's the perfect place to leave Immortalitas while we travel to Xeezar."
Durado releases a sigh since Aurora's response wasn't an answer to his question. What we're planning is simple. Find some way to slow down The Primeval Inherent. He wants a deeper plan. The intricacies.
His eyes drift to me. I sympathize with Durado on a level. In plain terms, he's of average intelligence. Sucks that he's always in the company of two highly intelligent entities.
It makes for a lack of communication. Aurora and I can communicate without saying much. We finish each other's trains of thought and come to the same conclusions. Durado isn't capable of that hence, why he's the one always asking the questions.
"My ship is destroyed, remember? Or has your brilliant mind forgotten that?"
I pinch the bridge of my nose and eventually make it to my temples. That is something I forgot. It was destroyed when we were looking for Immortalitas, which was a while ago now.
"I'll have the drones manufacture a new one based on some previous designs I've made. Don't worry. Besides, we'll be arriving in the Kelera system soon. In the next minute."
That seems to put Durado at ease and leaves the command deck in silence.

~~~(Location: Immortalitas, The Kelera System)~~~
We exit The Genesis Dimension, and I stop my search through the trans-galactic communications network. As I appear on the terminal connected to Scott's chair, I can't help smiling a little. It's nice to have him back.
When you're stuck with stupid, you appreciate intelligence.
Not like I did before, but this experience has really shown me that I can't stand people not on or near my intellectual level. Immortalitas enters a stealth mode at the push of a few buttons from Scott, and he stands up.
"Hop on."
He holds out his hand, and the Aurora Holder is waiting for me. I transfer myself, and he carries me to the door leading out of the command deck.
"I've scoured the worlds in the Xeezar system, and the one with the highest traffic is Eadora Prime. Its Player population is almost 135 million. With an NPC population of 48 billion."
It's a large difference between Players and NPCs. The reason Players are in power is because they're the ones who discovered and colonized the system. Giving them all the authority.
"It's run by a company called Dorma Industries."
I see a look of contempt on his face as we walk into the hangerbay. The drones are currently working on the new ship for Durado.
"You and I will be heading to Xeezar before Durado. He'll be waiting until his ship is finished."
My attention turns to the upset-looking Durado as he's watching the drones put together the ship.
This is great!! Scott and I actually have time to ourselves. No idiot to constantly be butting in.
