Confrontation with The Patient Observer (Page 162)

~~~(Location: Exiting the Genesis Dimension near Primordium Prime, Immortalitas)~~~
Immortalitas hums slightly as we exit the Genesis Dimension. Power levels across all stations have reached their lowest possible function. "Traveling via Genesis Dimension uses pretty much all our power." Durado loves stating the obvious. This is exactly what happened last time, but Durado was in stasis since he was causing problems. In Aurora's opinion.
Speaking of Aurora, she pops up next to me on the terminal and places her hands on her hips as she unintentionally emphasizes her feminine figure. "Bring us down and start powering up Immortalitas like last time. Every second counts." She nods her head and snaps her finger. Immortalitas begins its descent, and we're slowly brought down to Primordium Prime.
We're in the same place as last time, the city known as Eternal Collective. The Nexus of Knowledge is located here as well, a place that I want to stop by. If given a chance. "Readings show that The Patient Observer is on his way over, shall I start the isolation and lockdown of the monitor?" We agreed that's what we'd do, and that's the plan in the end.
However, The Patient Observer has been planning for another confrontation with us. We can't know what he's planned. I can make conjectures and theories, but that's it. "Create the program and prepare it for immediate activation when I give the single. Lock him down." I want to speak with him before we start all of our plans.
Aurora nods her head, and I pick her up in a portable mini-chip. It's something that I designed so I can take her with me anywhere. I call it Aurora Holder MK.1, and this is the first time she gets to use it. She hops into the chip, and now she's a literal handheld AI. "Let's get off this ship and talk to him." Aurora needs to be with me for my talk with The Patient Observer.
Durado walks behind me as we leave Immortalitas, and I walk the same path the last time I was in Eternal Collective. We reach another terminal, and Aurora is still in my hand. Hidden away in Aurora Holder MK.1. Before long, The Patient Observer shows up, and he looks the same as last time. "Greetings, Primordium Autumn. I've been awaiting your return." Sounds the same too.
Playing this careful and safe is the best way to do this, and there isn't any room for error. "I can't say I've been looking forward to this Patient Observer." I can't just pretend we're friends all of a sudden. I need to make it look like I'm still suspicious of him. If I don't, he'll start to think all the things I don't want him to think. Like what we might be planning with him
He floats closer, and I can't tell what his mood is or what he's thinking by looking at him. He doesn't have a face since he's a floating machine. "I take it you're still skeptical of me, but there are many things you must learn. We must hurr-!" He gets close enough for me to place my hand on him. The same hand that has Aurora in it.
Aurora does what she needs to do, and she launches the program that she made, and she locks down The Patient Observer and subsequently his backup since he's directly connected to it. "Damn, that went way better than expected." Durado squats and picks up the empty shell Patient Observer used as a body. I lift up Aurora, and she appears in my palm. Coming out of Aurora Holder MK.1.
She smiles up at me as she holds out her hand. A red and orange ball of light appears to form in her hand. "This is The Patient Observer. He won't be a problem anymore. Upload me to the nearest terminal, and we'll head to The Nexus of Knowledge first." She never fails to disappoint. Aurora smiles even more seeing my smile.
I walk over to the nearest terminal and upload her to Primordium Primes Systems. "I can set up another teleporter to take you straight to the building in the Scientific District that holds The Nexus of Knowledge like last time. Patient Observer won't interfere with the transport this time." I give her the confirmation, and the teleporter lights up. Durado doesn't want to go, but he's coming with.
