Aurora's Problem... (Page 159)

~~~(POV: Aurora)~~~
~~~(Location: Genesis Dimension heading towards Primordium Prime, Immortalitas)~~~

Scott doesn't know what he's doing to me when he says that I'm beautiful... For some reason, there are things wrong with me when I'm around Scott or when I think about him... I've run several diagnostic programs and tried to isolate problems, but nothing is coming up. Internally, I'm perfectly fine... But distracted and feeling strange things...

My eyes poke out from my knees, and Scott is looking out toward the beautiful look of the Genesis Dimension. His subtle smile and looks are unintentionally being recorded in my memory. Millions of snapshots are being fired to remember this look. All without any of my authorization. "What's wrong with me..." My words can't be heard since I say them in such a quiet tone.

He stands up and makes his way to Durado, taking a seat next to him and starting a discussion. I tune them out, and I close my eyes. "Nothing is making sense... Is that something wrong with my design? Did Borealis make me this way intentionally?" Borealis didn't explain much to me, and I've hardly broken 9.5 percent of the information she's given me.

Primordium Prime will prove an excellent distraction, and maybe I can get Scott out of my head for once. My eyes open again, and I see him smiling as he laughs with Durado, and many more snapshots go off. "I need to get out of here." I take off towards the digital storage facility and decide this is where I'll be until we arrive at Primordium Prime.

Durado and I have been talking about some of his craziest adventures before he met me or even had a daughter. "That's when they decided to chase me into an ion storm. Both of our ships were disabled, but I found a way out using the local planet's gravity well. After that, I wasn't welcomed anywhere near Rezzia Galaxy." The story he's telling me at the moment is unique, to say the least.

There is rarely any time to speak with Durado like this, which is one of those times. We'll be arriving at Primordium Prime within the hour. "So, have you noticed what's up with Aurora? It's like she's on her period or something. She's been way moodier than normal. Especially when concerning you." The topic changes on a dime, and I look at him with a raised eyebrow.

I haven't noticed any changes with Aurora other than some behavioral changes and some slight mood fluctuations. "Not anything out of the normal. Aurora is a highly complex and incredibly advanced AI. There are things about her she's probably still finding out. She's basically a girl in a hologram's body." He has a look as if all the pieces have fallen into place.

He has a giant grin come across his face, and I can tell that he's going to try something that will piss off Aurora. "What do you think instore for us once we get to Primordium Prime? Last time, you and Aurora ran into that monitor." Yes... The Patient Observer is a concern of mine, but one that I'm already thinking of plans to stop.

He has lots of access to Primordium Prime and other systems within it, so it's not easy to get rid of him. "The Patient Observer is a problem, and I think Aurora and I can deactivate him somehow. We need to locate his backup storage and body. It's guaranteed that he has multiple bodies to use." Infecting his systems with a virus seems good, but I don't know his full capabilities.

Scott is in deep thought, and our conversations have ended. But I'm thinking about my own entertainment after we're all done here on Primordium Prime. From what I've been seeing, Aurora has developed a bit of a crush on Scott, but neither of them can see it. Aurora thinks its something wrong with her design. I could hear her getting angry about it yesterday.

It's a really good opportunity to tease her, but that could lead to other problems. Perhaps the best option is to poke and prod the subject of Scott with her slowly. Further, her frustration. That's the only thing I can see working. Never outright saying anything, but making her irritated nonetheless. "This is going to be so good..." I can't wait to get some payback.
