Video: Little Guys Episode 6

This one was a slog; I find the topic absolutely fascinating, but perhaps as a result I struggled really hard to make it come out right. I shot this episode two months ago, then proceeded to shoot two more littles guy after that (hence why I uploaded episodes 7 and 8 without a 6; this was 6) but it just... stuck in my craw. I did not like the energy of it, so I reshot it a few weeks later. I hated the energy of that one too, so I reshot it again a couple days ago. I hated the energy of that one as well, so I finally reshot it again yesterday and got it right, I think.

I think the video speaks for itself; I hope you find it entertaining, or even possibly educational, but in any case I'm so glad that I have the luxury of being able to reshoot a video when that's what needs to be done, instead of forcing myself to release crap. I am forever thinking about how miserable it must be to be one of those youtubers who has to upload four times a week and doesn't have time to polish anything or do-over mistakes. It was bad enough when I had the day job; this is so, so much better than being on a constant deadline. Thank you all, so much, for making this possible.

Adding an ATSC tuner module makes sense in countries where you pay for TV licenses -- the UK and Sweden, for example. We don't have Federal TV channels, so we don't have TV licenses in the US. The sysadmin at my old job learned about this the hard way. He was Swedish, as was most of the company. He got flown out to Tulsa to set up and reconfigure our network at our little branch office. He comes in one day and sets up what looks to us like a TV. It's tied to our new Zoom equipment, so its fate is obvious otherwise. Our boss says, "ah, so let's set it to channel 2 and make sure it works." "You can't do that with this monitor!" the admin exclaimed with pride. "I found a monitor-only screen, which was trickier here for some reason. Now we won't have to pay for the license." I had to tell this man with crazy Linux cred and hipster TV shirts far better than mine, "you know we don't have TV licenses in the US, right?" He did not. His jaw dropped so hard. So did a couple others in the room. Lifetime Tulsans were thinking, "what good will it be when we need StormCenter 8 during a tornado?"
