My sewer situation / GoFundMe

There's more details in the linked GoFundMe but, in short, my sewer line is suddenly permanently clogged, and I have to get it replaced ASAP to the tune of $13,000, so I'm appealing to everyone I can for donations.

You're already contributing far more than I ever anticipated, and I think I can get a loan, so to be fully honest: I probably can pay for this. The trouble is, I'm already having difficulty managing my finances (I keep ending up completely broke between paychecks) and with the extra pressure of yet another large monthly payment, I'm worried I would have trouble continuing to make content and my channel might end up collapsing. So, if you want to help take this off my plate so I don't have to worry about it, you can contribute above.

Important: I am not asking anyone to donate if it would mean cancelling your Patreon pledge. If I have a sharp dropoff in pledges it will jeopardize my studio lease and my whole channel, so that's not worth it. Please, excess funds only, and don't feel bad about not contributing extra, you're already doing a lot. Thank you all again for your support!

Donated. Sorry you’re having to deal with this. Looks like it’ll get sorted though, based on where it’s at now!

I’m seeing that most policies won’t cover it. Sorry to hear! Will donate on payday! Best of luck Gravis

I'm sorry, man... that just sucks. I'm recently laid off, so I'm not in a position to contribute, but I thought I'd at least share how much that sucks. Sucks that you're dealing with all this, and sucks that you have to deal with a gofundme on top of it. All of it just sucks. I'm sure you'll be just fine, but still. That blows. EDIT: As someone who's also had tree roots growing into sewer pipe, I'm going to hazard a guess that you had plenty more ... dramatic pictures you could have posted. (I'm remembering a bathtub filled with literally black water ... it looked like an X-Files prop). So my appreciation for going with just a picture of a pipe.

Regarding being broke between paychecks, may I recommend YNAB https://www.youneedabudget.com/ ? It helped me get out of that rut and be better prepared for unexpected large expenses. Been using it for years with great success. ☺️

It's one of those bullshit things that insurance won't cover 99% of the time.

I've been there, I tossed you what I could afford, we had this happen to us in 2019, a plumber broke their snake off in our main trying to clear roots, cost us $10k to retrieve it and replace 60-feet of sewer main. They used a boring machine to pull a one-piece pipe under ground, only needed to excavate two holes, one next to the house, and one next to the street, we saved quite a bit of money though because the city had JUST replaced from the street 6-feet into our right-of-way, only 6 months prior, so no road excavation was required, which could have been up to $12k more we were told.

It did not cover it in my case, but worth calling and asking, just in case.

Donated! Hope you can remedy quickly.

I've put in $20 to do my little bit. An on a disability pension. I hope it goes well

I was wondering the same thing. Gave some regardless.

Oh, this really sucks. We just finished paying off the loan we took out to replace our water main last summer

Renters/homeowners insurance won’t cover this?
