I almost called this "The AK47 Of Mice", but gun imagery ain't what I want in my thumbnails. Still, the sentiment's there; this mouse is an absolute trooper.
I gotta fess up here - because I hadn't actually tested this thing in a live-fire exercise until literally the last segment I shot (in fact, I shot it after I'd edited the whole rest of the video), I think I had a negative angle in mind the whole time I was writing and recording the narrative, because I thought it was gonna be somewhere between "neat but not that impressive" and "actually worse than a ball mouse."
After seeing the energy level this device contains, I feel like if I had it to do again, I'd run a bunch more tests, really put it through the wringer. On the other hand, I only have one unit, and I don't want to destroy it. Maybe if I get another, or someone suggests some really spicy ideas in the comments.
Additionally, I wish I'd tested an optical mouse against the same scenarios. I'm almost positive it would have done much worse in every regard.
On a personal note, this is one of the fastest videos I've ever produced, and much of it's owed to my studio being so easy to work in. I want to thank you all again for your continued support. I also want to say that I'm not working at my best capacity - my girlfriend has been out of town for over a month dealing with family business and I am really running on the ragged edge of sanity, plus I'm still figuring out *how* to work in this new space.
That's a long walk to saying: I'm badly out of focus in NEARLY every shot of this video, and whether you all notice or otherwise, that's not up to my standards and it's not why I bought a 4k camera. I ain't apologizing, so much as I'm saying: I'm not done improving.
