It's great that you mention that, since I completely forgot to address it *at all* in the script for this thing that I was just about to start recording. Yeah, the answer is that it doesn't touch audio - I don't have any idea how that's done, but I presume that since audio is *very* commonly not linked to video (think about news anchors talking over a remote feed of a field reporter; a presenter talking over a montage; etc) this is considered a totally separate task with its own technician.

2021-03-16 19:57:29 +0000 UTCHere's a really dumb question for ya - does this thing interface with audio at all or is that assumed to be a completely different unit? It looks like SDI can carry embedded audio, but the controller and switcher both look like they're set up for just doing video mixing, so would the audio just be totally separate and then sync'd and added to the signal somewhere between this switcher and the broadcast feed?

2021-03-16 19:55:21 +0000 UTCThe signal generator chassis was a multipurpose they had different cards that could go in it, this jut has the generator card in it. I think it puts out analog and digital black, and may take in another source for ref.
