Alliances and Enemies

I’d gotten home. Finally! I immediately hopped into the shower after giving my mother a tired wave. Dealing with a chunni was exhausting work, is this how everyone felt after dealing with Veil? 

I’d finished up my conversation with ‘The Lady of Dark Flame’ and now I was contemplating my life choices. Had I corrupted the youth? Was I a bad guy? So many questions, so little answers.

At least posing dramatically was my friend. I covered my face with a single hand, and slightly leaned back. A younger me would have slipped and fell most likely.

Yet Veil had no such weaknesses.

Alright, Korisu-chan is definitely bringing out my best-worst qualities. I grumbled slightly as I knew deep down I had to embrace the chunni, for the fate of a darker world . . . I let out a small sigh.

I couldn’t shake this vibe, no matter what I did. It was a part of me. Perhaps Veil’s next appearance would need more flair. 

I could do that after school- wait. I promised to spar with Sayo after school tomorrow. Damn it! Whatever. It was time for me to go to bed anyway. 

Surely nothing crazy would happen tomorrow, just a casual spar and then I’d spend time with Utena!

. . . 

Things had devolved out of control. Completely and utterly out of control. Countless gunshots raced past me as I lowered the head of the girl beside me as her upper half was nearly torn off from the incoming attack.

I tore my hand into a nearby mechanized suit and crushed the fleshy bit in the center causing it to collapse.

The glowing green lights slowly dimmed as I threw the body into more scattering bullets causing both to stop in their tracks and buy me only a moment to think.

How the hell did we even get here?

Earlier . . . 

Allright, the day of school is finished and nothing bad has happened, though I still had a strange feeling that something isn't right. Either way I’d made my way down the stairs with my bag over my shoulder and outside of the building. There were a few announcements over the PA, but I mostly just ignored them. School was out, so it's not like I cared about any drills or anything.

I then crossed over the street and took a deep breath. Where was Sayo? I didn’t even know where her classes were. Dang it. Time to find Utena and spend time with my girlfriend first then, to be honest I’d rather do that anyways. 

Looking around the area I couldn’t find Utena causing me to frown. Actually a lot of people were gone. Alright, what the hell was going on? A teacher ran up to me with a panicked look on her face, and already started dragging me along.

An action I allowed her to do as her words had stunned me for a moment.

“The infamous magical girl killers are fighting Tres Magia, we need to get to a bunker, now.”

The who?

Alright. Looks like I’ll be getting to be Veil today after all.

Then I heard a massive voice echo over the horizon, accompanied by a massive explosion.

Hiiragi Utena POV

I’d gotten an emergency call from Venalita, one I apparently couldn’t refuse due to the severity of the situation. Other members of Enormeeta had arrived, and they were going to discuss something with us.

Something I couldn’t ignore.

They wanted to kill Tres Magia. Why Venalita had opted to tell me that, I wasn’t completely certain, but they had told me nonetheless.

My breathing was warm, and my heart slammed in my chest as I stared at the black room with my allies beside me. My hand clenched on my lash and my teeth gritted as one of them started to speak out from the darkness.

“Use your eyes, we’re up here.”

The lights warmly buzzed onwards and four figures stared down at us, figures I’d never seen before.

“Sheesh, don’t you know you’re supposed to introduce yourselves to your superiors?” The one in a sailor and idol uniform spoke out, but was 

“It’s rich seeing you trying to act superior, Loco.” 

“Huh but they-” That was enough. I’m not wasting my Aki time with these people.

“We aren’t going to be killing Tres Magia . . . yet” For a moment there was silence. Then the imposing woman sat upon the throne like chair and spoke with an authority that caused the silence to continue for a moment. Tensions had risen dramatically so I cooled them slightly with that final remark.

“Then why are you here?”

I didn’t want to have a fight at this very moment, so I decided to change the subject and potentially sneak attack them later in order to remove them.

“Veil.”

The woman let out a sight and leaned back in her chair, a hand resting upon her face as she paused. Then she glared at us with ferocity.

“The first Magical Boy and you’re struggling this much? Pathetic.”

“Excuse me? Why don’t you try fighting that asshole?” My gaze turned to my ever loyal friend and soldier, who spoke up in our defense. Korisu-chan, I mean Scarlet Alice gave a nod of approval.

“Silence you useless Starless, You especially Magia Baiser. I expected more from you. Taking hostages. Tracking down his civilian identity. Your tactics don’t fit a leader, and you clearly aren’t going all out against Tres Magia. Considering how you’ve treated that group with sexual fascination rather than removing them outright.”

I gulped lightly, I was being called a pervert by my enemy!

“Veil interrupts us everytime alright! Seriously, give him a shot and you’ll understand.” The woman laughed vibrantly at that.

“So be it, but you’re done being a leader. You work for me now.”

“I won’t work for anyone but Baiser!” Kiwi-chan shouted out in my defense as my previous bravado slowly faded.

“We aren’t going after Veil.” Venalitas words brought a cold silence to the room as everyone turned to stare at them. Lightly surprising even me. “You will die.” 

“I am Lord Enorme, you truly believe this random upstart can defeat me after this much preparation? It’s finally time for Enormeeta to take this world by storm, and yet here you are twiddling your thumbs while nothing happens.”

“Don’t get cocky. Pride comes before the fall, y’know.”

She shook her head as though shaking away a few bugs who’d dared to reach her ears.

“I see no point in continuing this argument.” She stood up and up a hand in declaration. “Very well! We shall conquer this world ourselves!”

“Ah, so this is a betrayal then?”

“I don’t care how you take it you lowly creature, you’ve served your purpose.” Venalita however only seemed to smile brighter than usual at that remark.

“Wait, we just met these weirdos and now they're our enemies?” Now isn’t the time for commentary, I have a feeling a fight is coming on.

“You three, join us, and all will be forgiven. With our forces combined we can rule this world and crush Veil along the way!” Well . . . I can just betray them later. The faster we defeat Veil, the faster I get my Aki time!

Not really interested in taking over the world, but free allies against Veil are free allies against Veil.

It’s like Aki used to say before he realized he had a lot of money. If it's free, its free. I’ve picked up so much free magical girl merch in the past just by attending events early, this is no different!

“Ok.” A beat passed, and I couldn’t help but see Korisu-chan twitch slightly.

“Yes! With our forces combined Veil will be annihilated! This world will be ours!” Then I felt someone slightly pull on my dress. It was Scarlet Alice, slightly determined as she held onto me tight.

She was shaking her head in refusal. Kiwi-chan started to speak up, but I let out a small sigh. These people probably scared her, and honestly they scared me a little bit too. She would just have to trust me.

“It’ll be alright Alice, just trust me.” I sent her a reassuring wink while I turned away from the four standing above us.

“Such insubordination. I’ll have to punish her.” She stood up and cracked her whip causing me to frown. Korisu-chan looked ready to fight back but I put a hand on our shoulder.

“If this is how you treat my people then I don’t think this alliance will go through.”

“Yeah! Tell her off Baiser-chan!” Kiwi-chan was always there to support me!

“Alliance? You’ll be working under us. After your previous display it would be for the best.”

I clenched my fist, it was time to make a stand.

“Then we won’t be working with you at all.”

“Sister.” She turned to the one in a nun outfit with long pink hair. “Crush them.” Then she plummeted to the ground causing it to crack and crumble, her monstrous strength on display as she threw a rock away from herself.

Venalita frowned at this and opened a portal behind us. Causing Lord Enomre to frown.

“Why don’t we let them encounter Veil for the first time, then let’s see if their feelings have changed.” 

“You’re just running away!?” Said the loud one.

They can fight Veil while I spend time with Aki, which sounds like a win-win!

So I silently stepped back through it and my allies followed suit.

The portal rapidly closed behind us much to our foes annoyance, and we all turned to Venalita expecting answers.

“Lord Enorme, Sister Gigant, Leberblume, and Loco Musica. The founding members of Enormeeta seem to have forgotten the difference between the strong and the weak with recent upturn in victories.”

“So what do we do now Baiser-chan?” I held up a finger to the sky with a smile.

“We don’t need to do anything! They either win and we don’t have to worry about Veil anymore, or they lose and we don’t have to deal with them!”

“Baiser-chan is so smart!” I puffed out my chest with some pride, only to let out a sigh as I turned a sickeningly sweet smile towards Venalita-san.

“What the hell is a magical girl hunt? Why didn’t you mention those to me before? Why are we even doing that in the first place, and do you even know how important magical girls are? Apparently not? You have a lot of explaining to do before I chuck you, you stupid idiot!”

“Ah, looks like you're all fired up.” I grabbed the creature and threw it flying into the sky as it let out a bored ‘ahhh’. My heavy breathing slowly calmed down as I gritted my teeth.

Only for us to be face to face with Tres Magia.

Awesome, it's Tres Magia! Wait. I’m still in costume!

“We get back from training and you three are already up to no good. Veil isn’t here so let's show them the extent of our training!”

“This will be a piece of cake, and seriously, right next to a hospital? You guys are the worst.” I slowly turned my eyes over to the large building beside us and I frowned. Dang it Venalita!

“I won’t lose, let's end this quick . . . I have places to be.” I couldn’t agree more with Magia Azul . . . but I’m sure Aki will understand if I spend a bit more time dealing with Tres Magia. However before any of us could act a massive explosion went off in the distance, a voice accompanying it as the ground shook.

“Come on out Enormeeta, you don’t get to just switch sides and run away!” 

I think that was Loco Musica, and with her words our enemies paused before Magia Sulphur sighed.

“This is the most obvious trap in existence . . . but Magenta is already falling for it.” The leader of the amazing Tres Magia looked down towards us with hope in her eyes.

“You’ve chosen to become good guys? That’s awesome!” Unfortunately I had to break down her hopes, I still wanted to be a bad girl after all. Though this wasn’t just for Aki, this was for me as well. 

The opportunity to lewd magical girls wasn’t something I could do, and I definitely couldn’t betray Tres Magia once allied with them. I wasn’t cold hearted enough for that! Well, unless Aki wanted me too . . . 

“We aren’t becoming good guys, we just aren’t willing to do a suicide run against Veil.” I crossed my arms, and slightly away turned my gaze. It hurt to say this to them, but they were enemies!

Magia Magenta looked like she was going to cry and I bit my lip before speaking up again.

“B-but we can help you deal with her this time!”

Magia Sulphur was mumbling but I managed to pick it up causing me to frown while she nudged Magia Azul.

“Obvious Trap, be ready to use that.” They finished their training, so did Magia Azul have a new powerset?

This I couldn’t miss! 

M-maybe I’d have to spring a trap anyways!

AN: It returns, and the arguably most important arc (for now) begins. The Ultimatra encloses, the Lord’s Legion prepares to kill Enormeeta, and Enormeeta Teams up with Tres Magia just this once (allegedly)! But where is Veil in all of this?
