"I Said I Love You First" - Selena Gomez & benny blanco *FULL ALBUM STREAM*

HEY HT HOTTIES!! today we got to sit down and listen all the way through this ne record from Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco and I must say I was pleasantly surprised! I am not really a tried and true Selena fan but I think every choice on this project was done in a really tasteful way in order to enhance the overall appeal of the sound they were going for. some bops here and there as well as some emotional stuff. Ill write a through review on AOTY in a week or so of listening to it more but until then I hope you enjoy the stream :)

Gosh this is why I love watching your vids Troy, you’re seriously insightful and empathetic in your reasoning and really try to understand the artist’s perspective rather than just saying ”meh, didn’t like it” or ”not their best stuff, did they lose their talent/sell out?” and other criticism like that which seem way too usual nowadays. Appreciate you for understanding that art comes in different forms and phases and that sometimes the making of the art is more important than whether the result becomes some world hit or whatever. Thank you for that and keep up the great work!

I dislike the “do you want to be perfect” interlude not because it’s cringe, but because it’s… shallow in a way? Like telling a depressed person “don’t be sad” or someone with an eating disorder “just love your body.” The powerful thing about music that touches on difficult topics is that it can either (a) open a door that lets you view the experiences of another person in a way that helps you understand it or relate to it or (b) puts words to your own feelings in a way that you would never have been able to. This interlude just feels cheap because it doesn’t try to do any of that.
