"The Tortured Poets Department" - Taylor Swift *ORIGINAL ALBUM STREAM*

As I sit here thinking about this album after the first listen, I can't help but feel thankful for albums like this. did I love it - no. Were there funny and interesting parts - yes, very much so. Each time I listen to a new album I feel like I get to know myself a little bit better as a listener and for that growth I am thankful. I genuinely am excited to discuss this album with yall, I have some mixed feelings so it will be a minute until I write my review on AOTY. Thanks for being patient with me y'all, we're listening to the anthology tomorrow at the same time.

This is the first time I watch your reaction to a Taylor album here on Patreon, but I’ve watched all of your YouTube ones, and I lol’ed when you said “I just said 100k likes cause it’s YouTube of course I’m going to do it”. That’s hilarious. Btw I really like listening with albums with you. It feels like I’m doing it with friends ✨ Thank youuuuu. This has been fuuuunnnn. Going to the anthology next.

Denisse Arenas

i agree that so long london is as sad on first listen but one you delve into the lyrics and get the references (like the light in daylight and the altar in youre losing me) it starts to open up and reveal the tumultuousness of joe and taylors relationship. the intro also mimics church choir, like a wedding, and the up beat tempo seems like a sped up heartbeat or heartbeat during a panic attack etc.

leah

That comment had me flabbergasted. I’m so sorry. But joke is on them bc the only way they could comment on here is if they’re PAYING !!!! Congratulations on having a paying hater 👏🏼 Keep doing you king! We love your reactions 🫶🏼

fdill11

No b b9? A!

Reannah Hollaway

Some people have a hard time accepting that they’re about Matty I think

Michael West

Look I found a deranged obsessive Swiftie who can’t handle hearing any criticism of her albums without having a nervous breakdown. You’re so mad as if someone directly insulted you 🥴😅

Michael West

Hope you die alone ❤️

Kathleen Rainbow

I’m 3 months late but still laughing along (out loud…yikes) to the Charlie Puth/Pete Davidson opening jokes 😂 Thanks for always being so real in your reactions!

Samantha Hercules

i would rather listen to music with you than alone at this point

Baru

Hey Christina! The post button in the comment section is actually not required. Hope this helps!

jianna

I love this album, her writing is fantastic! I appreciate your perspective though. The album definitely picks up as it goes on.

Susanne Stien Masters

I think you need to react to the ttpd setlist from the eras tours I have screen recordings if you want them!

Natawsha wedel

Can I get an updated discord invite please. :) Also HI! NEW HERE! Just came over from YouTube.

Effy Bird Wild

I love how deeply you feel the music you react to. It’s refreshing to see some PASSION!!

Linds

Your reaction every time a big ass word comes up I instantly crack up everytime 😂 cuz same

Jen Wenzel

you should never have to apologize to someone who clearly cannot appreciate someone who is 100% genuine and thriving with their own community.

JeweliaMS

This was so unnecessary and rude and to bring his new wife into it? Yikes. What is wrong with you?

Stephanie Michelle

man stfu

Tahlia Dockrey

you smoked then ate (slay sister) 7 bars (bars in a song) of chocolate (by the 1975)

ry

That guy is so embarrassing, but I just want to say you are literally the only person I have ever watched reactions of because you're the only one I feel is genuine! Thank you so much for being you and creating so much content <3

ohmcgee

lmao this guy's been watching troy's vids for 2 weeks and thinks this entire community of long-time patrons cares about his negative opinion

lanegerous

Alright chill out dude, there’s absolutely no need to say all that here. There are exit surveys that I read for a reason. Sorry you think I’m putting on some shtick but I’ve always been 100% me since the beginning and if that’s not for you than cya later, but you don’t have to be so rude when leaving. Shame on you dude. Not cool.

hammy

My review/reaction of HTHaze:: I just found this dude from his reaction to Kendrick's "Not Like Us" - which I loved. First couple reactions I really liked- and he helped me appreciate Taylor Swift - so he does somethings right. But his schtick wears thin after you've seen a few reactions. A one trick pony who thinks he's much more clever than he is. And his limited vocabulary when trying to decipher basic lyrics is embarrassing. Dude needs to listen to a little less music and read a few more books. The guy loves the sound of his voice. Armchair/failed producer. If you can't do - react. I have no doubt his act, which is admittedly charming at first, will sooner or later turn off the majority of his followers/subscribers and ultimately his new bride. In short, I'm unsubscribing but I did get my $5 worth before the act grew old. He comes across as pompous, unfunny and one dimensional. He can dance though. I will give him that.

WOO_HODL

Christina, chill

Hannah

thank you for the support on patreon i’m sure he’s soooooo sad you spent $6 to hate 😭

Shahd Ibrahim

New member here, just cause I wanna watch the full reaction🙏

Phena

I love your reaction to this album!! I agree with a lot of your points, even as a die hard Jack fan. It'd actually be interesting to watch you react to Bleachers, especially Gone Now or self-titled, as I think that his personal stuff has a much different vibe

Madeleine Smith

Because she is a safe artist. She is the mainstream version of Lana,Lorde, and Billie Eilish.

Lisa

I think he was being overly nice b/c he knows the Swifties would bash him for heaven forbid..having an opinion.

Lisa

YNTCD

Jen Towers

You may be the most annoying human being on the planet. You think you could produce or write an album better than these Grammy award winning artists. Plus shut the fuck up. Wow. Worst on Patreon. Here’s your trophy, congratulations.

Christina

The fact that you are watching D20 makes me know I’m in the right niche lol. Dropout forever.

Sarah Johnson-McRae

But do we know where we can find the shirt 👀👀👀👀

Hannah Mullins

I think the line “he jokes that it’s heroin but this time with an e” is actually about how people were accusing Travis of being on drugs when he started dating Taylor because his performance went up so high. But he ended up telling them “it’s not drugs lol it’s just her” so Taylor is the heroine. :)

LoisLane

I still haven’t completed the album but I have relistened to at least the first half a few times now… and it does get better the more you hear it, especially if you just ‘hear’ it and not try to do a deep listen every time. Just my opinion but I think Taylor had a lot of shit to say and frankly didn’t care if the fans bought into it or not. Like she’s finally purging her soul, and as an artist this is that process.

Shaunna Emmons

On SMWEL: “Any measure???” GIRL LITERALLY SAME REACTION 😂😂😂😂

Molly

Same gorl same…. His unintentional marketing strategy worked…

Orlando Parisblue

PLEASE REACT TO FLORENCE!! you’d love dance fever!!

shan

Literally just got the membership cause i couldnt wait for the reaction anymoreeeeeee lets goooo

Maria Eduardda

It sounds like you really loved 80% of the album. I think we all expect perfection from TS at this point. Wonder if after more listens your overall thinking changed?

Sheri Bedard

One of my favorites is Clara Bow and it still took me 50 listens to 'get' the one line in the bridge. 'Thems the breaks' means tough luck, that's just how it is-- but the whole song is about breaking into the industry. Them's the breaks, tough luck, breaking into the industry doesn't come gently. Love it.

Darsy Smith

I think this is is why she hasn’t dropped all the merch (lyrical merch) she knew we were going to need some time to appreciate and connect

Mandi

second song in and the reactions are KILLING me HAHAHA

AA

I felt like we were on FaceTime when you reacted to the Charlie Puth/golden retriever line 😂 I was audibly laughing out loud

Kayla Whatley

I feel like it was a CHOICE to frontload this album that I actually like with a song, a *title* track that deranged... To me it's like 'please do not at all take me seriously' and I have some feelings about that :\ Glad to see your reaction, looking forward to seeing if you agree that it gets better!

Darsy Smith

The Alchemy is about Travis entirely. The heroine reference indicates how he is always performing his best because his “Heroine” is there. Right before that line she says “we been on a winning streak” followed by “he jokes that it’s heroine” . Also later in the bridge my favourite part “where’s the trophy?” he just comes running over to me- talking about the video of travis hugging taylor right after winning. Btw ur really funny! i love your reactions 🫶

Zobia Humayun

sry if someone said this but Taylor literally said Down Bad is the aftermath of being love bombed... it's not about Joe lmfao

Michaela Wagner

So long London… Lon-Done…. Beat never drops cause it just ended...

Heather Creel

initial reactions are fun and entertaining... but i do hope troy would get the chance to sit with this album (or the whole anthology) without the distraction of filming and chats. i don't think this album was made to wow us in our initial listen. and once you let go of trying to figure out which song was inspired by which muse, you get to appreciate the narrative and understand how very human all the players and experiences were.

purpley

Also, in regards to Matty -- ya'll he is racist, hence people protesting and "Sabotaging" lmao. Some swifties were trying to save Tay Tays ass dating this very openly PEAK white man with a sprinkle of misogyny and racism before it got too crazy. And she lost alot of black and brown fans by doing that.

Ashley Mitchell

"i did not feel the delivery of it" is the absolute summation of my feelings for the entirety of this album. I am a huge folkore/evermore fan, but this album felt hollow in comparison. It gave try hard, and the joy/excitement from fans seems to be more related to the lore than the actual crafting of a song/album. It didn't feel dynamic, and even the songs i enjoyed didn't feel like anything new from her; i honestly forgot which ones i didn't mind until re-listening with you/your commentary, and now that I write this, i've forgotten again. It doesn't feel like she pushed herself (nor did Jack or Aaron, as far as production) to do anything new, different, or to take creative risks. I don't "believe" her sadness, or her anger, or her sensuality, etc. I want to believe it but it's really not resonating. The writing isn't bad per se(def more poetic than her normal), but i honestly feel like this could have been a book of poems dedicated to her fans as opposed to a 31 song double album rehashing the same themes and topics without saying or trying anything new/outside the box, or elevating her craft in anyway. I truly hate how hard it was for me to get through. And not in the way that it's sad (30 by Adele is sad, Evermore is sad, Lemonade is sad, Blue by Joni Mitchell is sad), but in that's it's a run on sentence with such a huge disconnect between artist, lyrics, and production that it feels like she herself cant even notice how unenjoyable it is for the average listener. It reads as self important --self referential in a way that's less tongue-in-cheek and more self-absorbed. And not to be a petty hoe, but no dictionary was really required for this album ya'll. The vocab is pretty standard (love that she's flexing that muscle but come on lolol). Mariah Carey writes multi-syllabic words like this in her songs on the regular.

Ashley Mitchell

i was scared from your intro that you were gonna hate it but you loved all my favs except for so long london so i’m happy haha 😂

madison

you truly are one of a kind reactor. i hope you continue doing what u r doing for a long time, and not let the annoying and parasocial swifties ruin ur mood. lots of love!<3

aurellia ivana

This album definitely need a few listens but man it grows! The lyrics in these songs are so raw and honest — I love them! But to each his own.

Randolf

It’s a grower! I’m in love with this album.

Randolf

This is not an album to be consumed only once. It needs to be digested and it takes from the listener. Nowadays, as we live in an age of instant gratification and short attention spans, Taylor did the impossible

Laura

It's not my favorite album from her either, but there were a few bangers in there for sure. Love your reactions, thank you!

Sydney

I really hope this edit is wild for youtube with all the theatrics! I'm so excited!!

Bobhog

I listened to this full album 4 times through. I think it’s so stagnant and honestly feels like one drawn out song. Also I think so was so unhinged because they know the album is a tough listen.

Colby Lowe

calling the beginning of the smallest man that ever lived bridge 'goofy'???? troy has clearly never been in a relationship that truly felt like a conspiracy, like you look back and put pieces together and feel like a fucking nutjob but also not because thats really what it was but thats crazy so how could it be???? yk??

Amelia Moscowitz

That’s what I (jokingly) think too

Jenna Stuart

I’m watching this again and Troy…you let your love for Matty influence yo critique

Angie

That’s the take. Really didn’t like it at first but now it’s required. Can everyone please do a two weeks post 4 times a day listening review please?

Megan Dugan

can't believe y'all think the Matty relationship was real. PR.

Rai

I don't have the energy to read through all the comments, but I hope someone told you to go watch the lyric video for 'I can do it with a broken heart' its pure magic!

Julie Fish

Its a grower, i didn’t know how to feel at first. I liked it but I wasn’t there at the same time. Let’s just say now I have separation anxiety from it now that I’ve listened to it a few more times😃

Mia Mar

The crown of candy reference made me tear up at my desk dude.

Grace Davis

I think so long London was meant to sound like the archer in that it’s like a beat that never drops. It’s an anxiety that never gets resolved. It’s monotonous in the same way the relationship was. There was never any drama, passion, fight from his side. She just stopped fighting for both of them so the relationship ended.

Morgan Webb

always a good reaction and an honest opinion. thats why we come here at least i do.

Mark Barnwell

me too, I immediately wrote it off on my first listen... 2 days later and it's one of my favourite Taylor albums

Breck

I just watched your reaction for a second time and I can’t tell if you like it or not 😅😅😅

Caitlin Green

i still find it so interesting that the creators who are producers are not real big in music history past ten years. patty smith big in the ny punk scene. artist and poet. dylan thomas from hs and college lit.

Mark Barnwell

Y’all aren’t grasping the full breadth of The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived… “You didn’t measure up, in ANY measure of a man” Not only was it small but he couldn’t keep it up and he was a one-pump-chump 😂

Liam Mcfarlane

Not the D20 ACOC reference ❤️‍🩹

Gems Gordon

It will grow on you, give it a chance. One of these days you will find yourself singing in your head one of these songs. Take a second and third listen. Hugs.

Silver Ice

This album is a grower!

TheMagicalLifeofLiv

There’s nothing in the prologue that alludes to that though? She describes it as mutual mania. It was not a love affair, it was self-harm, out of the oven and into the microwave. It sounds like they had feelings for each other in 2014, but it never went anywhere and then she was with Calvin and Tom, and then obviously Joe. Matty only came back into her life when she was working on Midnights.

Ashley Christian

Chat is actually the worst. It’s literally like having live Twitter opinions while you’re just trying to react for the first time—it would drive me crazy lol.

Ashley Christian

I loved this album since it came out, it definitely has it's own personality! Some songs do have to grow on you a little :) the next part of the album is even better! More folklore influences😌

HeyEsmée

troy i know this is a huge album but a revisit would be amazing to see

s

Troy can you please watch thisss tik tok ... guilty as sin + about you !!! https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMMbDAe1d/

Azucena Ch.Fdz.

I like the album when it first came out but now that I’ve listened to it more. I am in love with it. It is definitely one of the album that grows on you.

Aliyah

this album has grown on me SO MUCH i love it

Elisabeth Tremblay

It’s interesting reading all the commentary now, a few days later. I felt the same way about the album when I first listened… I loved the vulnerability of the songwriting, but I wasn’t loving it. I’ve spent a lot of time with the album since it came out, the original + anthology, and I have to say it’s grown on me A LOT. I’m going to be interested to see if this turns into a Reputation situation - panned at first, but upon reflection and hindsight, actually really, really good.

Nish

Taylor and Matty’s relationship wasn’t just a few months! They were first seen together in 2014 and it seems like they’ve always found their way back to each other in between relationships.

Makenzie Peter

He posts the full streams unedited on patreon to get it out quicker for people

Meg

after my first listen, i genuinely thought this was going to be my least favorite album of hers. now, it’s literally in my top 3 duking it out with evermore and reputation for the #1 spot!! it took me a few listens to digest but it’s undeniable to me that lyrically this is her best work yet. thanks for the stream!!! 💚

Paige Kranyak

Troy I love you but I need time stamps of when you start 😂 spent the majority time of time at the gym trying to find the beginning

Makenzie Peter

hi troy !! just wanted to know will you react to eurovision songs? it's a contest with countries represented by artists

Mathéo Coutant

I think u should consider always turning chat off when ur doing full album reviews. people don't know how to act

mars

thats what I was thinking, because outside of the beginning of the album, he genuinely seemed to be enjoying the ride. Fortnight imo is a good song, but not a good album opener, and TTPD is the second worst song she has ever written, so i totally g et him not being into it. And with the track 5 not being very track 5-y, i was also meh on it up that point, but the album skyrocketed after Florida (another one i cannot stand to ever hear again) so i was really excited that he felt the same way.... and now I'm confused bc he definitely seemed to enjoy more than 6 songs.

Brittney Farley

at 29:03 you make the same face i did and we looked into each other’s eyes for that moment and thought the exact same thing.

emma ball

react to Madison Beer's debut album Life Support!

zineckz

For So Long, London- I really think it's more of a self acceptance song. Shes realized what came out of that relationship and is coming to grips with the new reality. Whatever that may be.

Mary Lynne

You saying "who are these people" about Patti Smith floored me... Bro!!!!!! The godmother of punk! Please tell me you listened to a couple songs after this ☠️

Merel

waiting for the editor to make you small like i’m not sitting here watching this on patreon

qwerty

I think the worst part of this album has been the fans having to assign an ex to the songs. It REALLY sucks the fun out of it. What happened to her career not being about the men she dated? I also feel like she played into it this album with the amount of "easter eggs". IDK I feel like she usually nails writing about her personal life and making it feel communal, but that she failed with many songs on this album.

t

comment about Guilty as Sin: has Troy fathomed that the song “Downtown Lights” is sampled in “Love it if We Made it”? 👀

CaitRose

We want The reaction to’ The MV of fortnight cause its too fire '

Benedetta

Same!!!

Izzy Kanhere-Craig

also I think she should take a break / put some more intention in the music she puts out this album felt rushed and lacking edits. Does quantity = quality? idk.

Kat

my unpopular opinion is that I want Taylor to explore other music producers for her future work. I'm not a big lyric person and I know that's where a lot of her notoriety comes from but I want her to explore different vibes (like pre-folklore) . I couldn't help but feel like so many of her songs sound similar and there isn't much variety. I liked The Black Dog in the anthology because it had that heavy guitar transition, so more of that

Kat

to be fair he often comes off like he likes all of the songs he listens to

Kat

The genius lyrics are so messed up damn

Ella Perkins-Perez

so long london is more a lot more sad once you realize the cadence is that of someone sobbing

Rose Lawson

Damn I was surprised your final thoughts were that didn't love the album and only 6 tracks stuck with you because you seemed to love most of them. I went back in the video and counted and it was 9 tracks you seemed to really like/love, then 2 that you kinda liked, and the other 5 that were ok but you didn't like all that much. Totally respect your opinion tho! It just shocked me since you seemed to have loved most tracks at first. But if they didnt stick with you, they just didnt... it happens. Thanks for giving it a shot and giving us your genuine reaction! I really do appreciate that. And I honestly hope the album grows on you a bit more, you might grow to really love it and maybe even be one of your favorites (of Taylor's discography) if you keep listening :)

Katherine Castineiras

i need to know what the naked in manhattan remix is!!!

Audra Fitzgerald

can someone link the naked in Manhattan remix? i need it

The Gamer's Club

love of my. loins

Sabrina Thompson-Cook

I cried

Elle

I was shocked that you said you’re not feeling great about the album because your reactions felt like you were loving it lol

kylee johnson

Not the eras film cup 😂

Sarah

Taylor actually said in an interview about track 5’s being her most vulnerable songs not necessarily the saddest :) All You Had to do was Stay was a track 5, super upbeat!

Cierra Smetana

The Black Dog is sooo good

Lexie Gandhi

Unfortunately, ive had a matty and he definitely ruined my life for a while

Lori Mahaney

I love ur taylor videos sm thank you

Niamh

Same here! It my favorite release so far and I've been around since the beginning.

cait erlandson

I think each repeat of the chorus and verse is about a different guy, like in order. If you listen to the changes made it makes sense.

cait erlandson

I honestly think it's a double. The spelling joke with Travis and kind of a dig at Matty going "I don't have to worry about this man having a drug addiction and he celebrates me like the heroine I am."

cait erlandson

I agree! It's definitely a grower as an album. Evermore was that way actually for me! I didn't love it initially (folklore was so iconic already and well-received) and now it's one of my fave Taylor albums

Julia Hilz

BRO THE STUART LITTLE COMMENT KILLED ME OMG

Sarah Lodato

Loved this reaction Troy. Took me a few days but now this album is stuck in my head. I havent ventured into album 2 yet, its a lot to process! Thanks for your honesty & perspective!

Mary

Please do a reaction to fearless and her debut!!

Bryony Weate

I really appreciated your album of the year review on this record! I agree that I tend to love taylor's lyrics more when there's the additional factor of a fictional story/when she's more third person omniscient. The lyrics here were so personal I had trouble relating and then on top of it sonically there wasn't anything new or exciting here in my opinion. Can't wait to see what you think of The Anthology!

Rachel Allen

I do agree with the Lana references.. it was the same when she befriended Lorde back in the 2010’s then ripped her sound with “Blank Space,” Lana’s with “Wildest Dreams,” but she has doubled down on the Lana sound with this album. Obviously, tens across the board in terms of lyricism despite some minor cringy lyrics (not including “The Anthology” version). It just seems that in an industry where her peers and even those who aren’t, seem to be more experimental, breaking new barriers, and really evolving as artists. Taylor, for me, lacks that. She retreats back to a safe space, musically, where she knows she thrives. There’s nothing ‘daring’ or ‘revolutionary’ here—just more of Taylor talking about the same subject matter she has since 2006. Are there some highlights here? Of course, songs like “I Can Fix Him (No Really I Can),” “But Daddy I Love Him,” for instance, not only paints a perfect picture of what Swift’s conveying through her extraordinary penmanship, but, she uses her voice in such a fun and intriguing way that reminds me more of “reputation,” which in my opinion, is one of her most cohesive works. There are strong moments in the midst of the album, but by that time, it’s easy for the average listener to lose interest. 75/100

B

I think fans in general are doing themselves and the music a disservice by needing to assign each song to a man in her life. It feels like many of these songs are about more than one person, and focusing more on her storytelling and her own feelings is a way more interesting way to listen to this album!!

kdot

Yes very true. Most vulnerable for sure. I suppose I'm assuming the chronology makes it more vulnerable as it's more raw when its at its freshest? But even so, thought both were excellent songs and the lyricism was on point.

Sarah

Tbh I think most of this album is actually about the triangular relationship between her, the media/public, and her dating life. Regardless of who's the muse behind each of the situations she explores, most songs include at least one reference to how people perceive her and what she "should be doing" according to the masses. Obviously Matty was one of the relationships where the public had the biggest opinion, but definitely not the only one. But Daddy I Love Him, Who's Afraid of Little Old Me and Clara Bow are the most direct in addressing the way private and public life are so intertwined for her - but lines like "I'll build you a fort on some planet where they can all understand it" or "if long suffering propriety is what they want from me" make me think this is way more of a recurrent theme in the main album than the relationships themselves

Sara _

omg same. Evermore was my least favourite album for years cause I just didn't get it - then one day it randomly clicked hahahah

Sara _

Track 5 is not even supposed to be the saddest song. Just her most vulnerable - so that's for her to decide. We can't really know how she feels after all

Sara _

Oh I agree so much with this. I also think it's poetry set to music. Personally I love it for this - only starting to fully fathom it now on the 3rd listen and still haven't re-listened to the anthology version - but I agree it's not for everyone. I guess that's the risk with a very cohesive album. You can't appeal to everyone with it. Taylor can do it though cause she's big enough to still have enormous success with it

Sara _

Album of the year; it's a review site - there's a link in the youtube vids normally :)

Sarah

and i wondered if it was to do with Jason saying Kelce as if the e doesn't exist and Travis opting for Kelce with the e!

Sarah

Agree; for me loml broke me! But there's no way that could be track 5 as 5 was the processing, it was the chronology.

Sarah

I listened with two of my friends after we'd each listened twice already. It was only on that listen that it truly clicked for me. I genuinely think this is some of her best work; but I absolutely don't think it was designed for the masses. One of my friends who is a big swiftie too, really struggled and still is; said it felt like poems set to music and not fully formed songs, so I absolutely can see that for some people.

Sarah

I think the track 5 being sad thing was taken too far by swifties, it puts expectations on this track to be completely heartbreaking every single album and if it’s not what they expect they don’t like it.

Nicole Tyger

I feel like doing the re-recordings has really helped her tap into her older music again and I feel like this album is like a modern Taylor spin on so many of her older sounds and songwtitting skills

Holly ✨

Did you even come here for his thoughtful opinion and reactions though? Because that’s what he’s going to give you every time. It might not be the same opinion as yours or mine but it’s weird to come onto his page and say something like that.

Pru Axon

You are so goddam funny, love it

Erica Borg

As a hardcore swiftie I can just say that for me it was like that with folklore and evermore as well, I had to relisten to most songs quite a few times to get them, but the way they grew on me is crazyyyy.

Lilly Wiesmann

this album takes some HEFTY processing lol. it took me at least 2 listens to get and like many of the songs, sometimes 3. i still don't care for fresh out the slammer! lol it's just a lot, almost too personal for public consumption a lot of the time (but considering she released them, clearly she's fine with us all hearing this.) also her attachment to matty makes more sense when you realize that they had SOMETHING around 2014 and remained good friends since, seemingly existing as a "what if" for both of them the whole time. she's not just mourning the loss of a short term relationship, she's mourning the loss of a friendship re: the herion(e) lyric: i saw someone mention that it seems to be a lighthearted dig at travis' terrible spelling on twitter lol

Neumann

He said he didn’t love it, not that he didn’t like it. Not everyone has to love everything Taylor puts out

Rachel Lazarus

the way you review music has taught me such an insane amount about songs and music and the production and process is so wild, it’s fascinating as someone who was in choir and only ever learned the vocal side of things!!

Chloe Millard

So happy to watch this full thing with my real attention after I could only listen to parts of it while I was driving on Friday 😂😂😂

Allison B

my comment doesn’t necessarily have something to do with your feedback of the album but rather just to mention that you have genuinely changed the way i look at music. i’ve learned so much about production, lyrics, etc. from you and it’s made me appreciate my favorite artists/songs that much more.

alex

Direct eye contact with the camera during guilty as sin is WILD 😭

Bethan Dickenson

I was nervous to watch after reading what you wrote, but glad I did! I enjoyed hearing your take on it all.. it was s difficult for me to get most of it on my first listen, but with time it has grown!

Heather M

I LOVE so long London it sounds like anxiety and adrenaline. It’s a heart beat speak up. It’s the opposite of your losing me. It’s rage and did you heard me? It’s the last battle cry. It’s incredible

Bethan Dickenson

So glad you gave Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me? The dingerrrr because that was my favorite off of the first release 🤗

Lauren Slye

I think the heroin(e) line was a joke about Travis' misspelled tweets

Tasha Votava

loml was definitely about Joe.

Tasha Votava

i really appreciate the way you listen to & process music and how respectfully you talk about things even if you don’t love it. i love your reactions for this reason. thanks troy!

Hannah Gallivan

I think her and Matty had a secret long time “talking stage” and on and off situationship that they only made public after a long time of being reconnected which then ended because of all the backlash they received. I think a lot of people agree that her and Joe split up LONG before it was made public and I think they made it public so she could then go public with Matty

Mia Jeffries

I feel like Fresh out the Slammer is s a continuation of Getaway Car tbh

Tasha Votava

I def disagree but you’re allowed your own opinion:)

Jessie Knight

I LOOOOVE those albums omg yes, but I really like this one more, could just be my taste though

Jessie Knight

this is her weakest album to date, he’s just being honest

cyberlarisa

I don't think track 5's are always supposed to be sad. I think this track specially is the acceptance part of a breakup and the the acceptance is needed in order for her to leave this place behind as a big part of her time with Joe and how much time she spent there

Tasha Votava

THE ACOC REFERENCE

Michaela Brown

As someone who listens to stream of consciousness artists like Courtney Barnett, this album feels very much like that. She’s not trying to come up with the tightest hooks or rhymes. She’s writing down all her thoughts and closing this chapter in her life. Also, she literally talked about the constant need for women in music to reinvent themselves. And I’m glad she’s making music she wants instead of trying to please everyone else.

Eva Zhu

As a huge Taylor swift fan I love your take on her music. I agree this album didn’t absolutely blow me away either but I will still have it on repeat 😂

Alexandra Bowman

the anthology is what cemented this as one of my favorite albums. i love that you don't hold back though.

Lauren

why did you have to point out the twin line in regards to ACOC??now I have to go cry about the rocks sisters

Declan Rouff

I felt this way on my first listen few. I have since listened again and again and it has got alot better giving it time. Fav tracks. Who’s afraid of little old me and but daddy I love him. The second half of the album 17-31 are a lot slower and not as good for me personally

Cerrie Spall

I liked this album, just liked. Maybe it's just my personal taste but I was hoping for something fresh I guess? There were songs I LOVED, but the rest fell flat for me.

Hannah Turner

album of the year

kay wils

I sort of agree and disagree and here's why. I agree that the album as a whole is about Joe, but more conceptually rather than contentually. The entire concept of the album is her going through the stages of grief of losing this long relationship, and Matty was a pretty big stage for her in that grieving process which is why I feel there are a lot more songs about him, because I believe he served as an escape for her pain and then turned around and wasn't this fantasy rebound love that was meant to be like she wanted him to be, and became heartbroken all over again because this distraction that felt SO real to her was just a distraction and now she's having to face the pain of losing what I believe was her one crutch in this breakup (Matty) AND continue grieving that 6 year long relationship.

Hannah Witt

see i think this entire album is more about joe than matty? like it was a 2 week fling versus a YEARS long relationship

Sophia Quartaro

lmk if u find out

katie lankford

thank you for always putting so much effort into understanding music and giving reactions and reviews your all!

Grayson Wroe

love your honest reactions and opinions always but so glad you appreciated whos afraid of little old me for the masterpiece I think it is

Grayson Wroe

Fingers crossed it lands soon then!

Lauren

florence is on the big artist spinny wheel... we just did not get lucky so far

Gülin Yolaç Aksencer

Not the crown of candy reference 🫠🫠🫠

Cassi Dean

Love your reactions Troy! I subscribed to your patreon because I know I can count on you to be honest and genuine with all your reactions:) Hope this album grows on you as I'm loving it but if not that's ok too because all jokes aside, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and you are always respectful when you voice yours. Can't wait to see more!!

Kaycee

the most lyrically beautiful album? bestie, folklore and evermore are right there T-T

LIA

Yes, me too!

Suze van Dijk

Troy pls do some Florence reactions, add them to the list 🩷

Lauren

Did I just pay that much to hear him not like the most lyrically beautiful album I’ve ever heard?? :( jk I love Troy sm and obviously I love Taylor, but lol I resubscribed expecting him to adore this

Jessie Knight

https://www.vanityfair.com/culture/2013/10/chelsea-hotel-oral-history For anyone who doesn’t get the Dylan Thomas/Patti Smith/Chelsea Hotel references.

Hannah Aubrey

Sad I redownloaded Patreon just to come here for this and first thing I read is did I like it? No 🙃

Angel Perales

also i found it funny how whatever you said chat would switch up and agree with you 😭😭😭

lisa

the chat was kind of disappointing and rude this time around- i had to cover it because it was mainly made up of people arguing about how taylor only makes music about men (which is funny considering what clara bow is about) or just straight up hating WHENEVER they got the chance. Tbh it was really ruining my mood.

lisa

Did anyone clarify that the heroin/heroine lyric was a playful dig about Travis’s misspelling “squirrel” and not about Matty?

Taylor Golmon

What’s AOTY?

Jennifer Brandon

I sit here thinking about the (well deserved) Matty slander with my the 1975 concert pfp lol

Madison Constantine

I loved this album, however, I took my time with each song. I think this is the kind of album that gets better the more you analyse and listen to it

Ale 👁️🫦👁️

Um is there still space for this 1975 discord? I've felt sooo like 1% about the whole thing 😅

Cristina Davila

I didn’t love it the first time and it has grown on me sooooooo much it’s now my top favorite Taylor swift album

Marylovesowls

Taylor and Dimension 20. Can we have streams of you watching d20 👀😭

Adriana P

I'm nearly 100% sure But Daddy I Love Him is about all of her relationships. How everyone has some shit to say.

Conna 🙂

first listen I wasn't in love... but the more I listen the more I'm obsessed. I now can't stop thinking about it. hopefully it grows on everyone haha

Lyssa Hartman

It’s day 2 and I’ve listened to it multiple times now and im absolutely loving it.

julie rickert

“Wearing imaginary rings” is so About You coded. I think you need to do a second reaction in two weeks for both parts

Carly

Thank you for the laugh LOL

Sarah

when you paused after the twin line and brought up crown of candy…… I had to lie down 😭 I promise not all seasons of d20 are that sad!!!!!!!

fllyingstars

apparently according to some extra poetry she included in the physical releases, it sounds like the matty healy thing has been an on/off situationship for a decade

Jen

I do agree about the Lana treatment of Posty and I really want them to release another version like she did with SOTB

Tasha Votava

I don’t know if anyone’s said it yet, but I take the Charlie Puth line as a high thought she indulged him in

Emily Mazzara

I love that the swifties in the chat think they know who each song is about, while admitting they hate Matty… yall clearly aren’t picking up some BIG context clues cause you don’t follow the1975. This is def mostly about Matty lol

Shay Shay

i know and the back and forth “it’s joe !it’s matty !” just stfu

ella

they kept going back and forth from “these songs sound the exact same and it’s so bad !!” to “THIS IS THE BEST SONG SHES EVER WRITTEN” based on how troy reacted to it and it’s so annoying to me. it makes sense tho since his fanbase is like 50% swifties and 50% not swifties

skyias

ngl chat were annoying asf

ella

Ok. I can do it with a broken heart gives the same vibe as the pink song from barbie but the 2nd version when everything is malfunctioning

Ashley Clark

I had the same exact emotional process on the A side as you. But then The Black Dog changed my life, and I realized I was a B side girlie. For the people hoping for more of an evermore/red vibe, B Side is for them. For those wanting a Jack/Tay synth vibe, see the A side. There’s definitely something for everyone on this album. The tea, lyrics, and tears are piping hot throughout 🖤🤍🩶

Batty

Exactly how I feel!! I was a bit meh about it at the beginning but the more I listen the more I enjoy it!

Adriana

I was disappointed at the first listen with the first part of the album , but it’s definitely a slow burn. It’s growing on me so much, the more I listen to it the more I get it. There’s so many lyrics and info to catch up to, but after one day is finally clicking with me.

Lara Sanchis García

I hope soooooo I am DYING to see his reaction!!!

Michelle Kent

chat was extremely irritating during this whole stream. these songs are definitely not made for an audience but for taylor herself, she was clearly processing so much. just wish the world gave taylor as much grace as they give everyone else. looking forward to your reaction to the anthology! p.s i rlly do think reading the prologue for this album sets the scene in a better light, if you get the chance to do so :)

Hamna Abro

It's the second part of the album also going to be uploaded here on Patreon?

Lara Sanchis García

Same here!

Nancy Connolly

Ngl reading the chat was exhausting… imo if you don’t find these songs sad or relatable, count yourself lucky cuz holy shit i was destroyed!!

Nancy Connolly

i know!!! i think he doesn’t give her enough of a chance he’s much more critical of her than anyone else i’ve seen him react to

rowan

Biggest takeaway: Troy watches D20?????? Amazing!

Kate H

Same!! The sound really threw me off at first. Its deff a slow burn, and honestly that might be good for me emotionally 😂😂

AnnMarie

Down Bad, Florida!!, and I Can Do It With a Broken Heart have been on repeat today.

Jennie Stevens

I’m shocked you don’t know Patty Smith, but that’s probably my least favorite song on album 1. I think you’ll like it more in a relisten, I did and I liked it a lot the first time. You were very excited about some of those and I could’ve sworn it was more than 6. Thanks for doing this for us want-to-be writers and those of us who have no one to geek out with about these lyrics.

Jennie Stevens

I’m in my like fourth/fifth time going through the album and it has toootally grown on me, I love almost every song. Probably TTPD, Fresh Out the Slammer, and The Alchemy haven’t totally hit for me yet.

Lily

as a swiftie since lover its taken me about 6 whole listens of this album (not even the 2am songs) to fully understand and HEAR it. 'i can do it with a broken heart' hits diff too like wow she was really going through it with joe and then matty too WHILST performing for crowds of thousands... newfound appreciation for her as a human being definitely and while the album isnt incredible its still so beautiful and unique - so bold too

Emma

Would love a reaction to Fletcher's In Search Of The Antidote!! plsss

Thomas Pearman

Him replaying “good boy, thats right” im in actual tearsss 😭😭 STAND UP

Lauren

Taste is crazy because this became my favourite instantaneous and i have 31 songs I just love and I can't understand how anyone couldn't. But that's music

carolina

SAME!!!!!🙌🏼

Shawn carni

Dude… Patti Smith???? Come on now…. 😂

Ally ❤️

She gave Postie the bridge. No greater honor

Ally ❤️

As a swiftie, I've been afraid of this album because we knew it was going to be different! I love a lot of songs and there are some that I'm still on the fence about. It definitely needs more than a few listens to process! The fact that the lyrics are so dense and wordy (I'm talkin to you 'sanctimoniously performing soliloquies') means I think we need a lot of time with this one. I'm on my 3rd listen through and it's growing on me immensely. There are some beautiful lyrics in here <3 This is definitely an album for her and for her fans. Can't wait for your review of Anthology.

Hannah

But Daddy I Love Him I interpreted as John Mayer 😬

Georgia

My initial first thought was of this album was if Midnights was really drunk and peer pressured folklore into getting high and then introduced her to all the other albums that came before her. Folklores interactions with each album while high range from small talk to up to the bedroom. It is mostly Midnights X folklore in my opinion but there’s definitely hints of other albums in there too, some more than others but I love drunk/high folklore cause she gets around!

Georgia

Troy as a hardcore swiftie who adores this album- you are the GREATEST. Even when we disagree you are so respectful and so fun and I always look forward to your videos. Thank you for doing what you do 💕

Genevieve Wisdom

Also, this is definitely a Joe album. This is a look into his gaslighting narcissistic controlling behaviour. Mr Vanilla who manipulated, controlled her, tried to convince her to ditch the fame under promise of marriage and settling and yet never followed through and then allegedly cheated. Very little here is Matty. My only interpretation of Matty is Fortnight. I hear Joe in 90% of these songs.

Georgia

I think this album needs more than one listen. My first listen I thought “I like it, but it’s kind of mid” but I’m on listen 4 now of the anthology and it’s definitely improved with every listen. Songs I didn’t think much of on first listen are far higher in my list now. This is grower album, and this album isn’t for charts or radio. It’s for fans, and for her. It’s cathartic, bitter, vengeful, questioning, vulnerable…. It’s a confession of broken hearts and self-inflicted wounds. It’s definitely grown on me.

Georgia

I appreciate your honesty here!! The album feels super incomplete to me, like a draft. Especially the extended “2nd album”, it just feels like all the songs needed more work, more time, more editing. Overall I feel kinda let down by it 🤷‍♀️

Nicole Thiel

it’s funny troy from your caption i was afraid to watch because i thought you really weren’t going to like it but you liked a lot more than i thought going in! as always appreciate your thoughts 😄

Kelly McCord

He posts on Instagram at least a few hours before he goes live usually

Taylor Sills

Yeah cause I kind of NEED it

Alyssa

When will the stream from today be up? I didn’t know it was happening today. And how do we find out when things are happening?

Abbra

I had the same thoughts about Chat. I wasn't watching live, but it made me sad. Context is definitely needed for an album like this so it's nice to have the chat commentary and feel like a community. I can't remember, is his chat Sub only? I know it's lame to make it like that, but during higher traffic streams like TS it might be a good move to slow down the chat and put it behind a paywall so that less negative stuff moves through.

Alyssa

You laid it out so much better than I did or could. She's literally singing about feelings I've had myself over the last 13 years. As a 33 year old who's experienced both Joe/Matty-esque relationships, I feel like my deep inner thoughts and wonders are on an album, and I will cherish this piece of work for a very long time.

Alyssa

I feel like Jack’s electronic-y production kinda takes away the emotional weight of some of the songs and I always find myself begging for more strings😭

carol

My husband who isn't a Swiftie was like - Her label let her release that many?!

Alyssa

Troy, how do we get in on the 1975 discord??

Carly Clayton

Same. Same. Same.

T

She gave Post Malone THE BRIDGE?! what do you mean he got the lana treatment? Taylor is known for her bridges, the fact that she trusted him with that is such an honour??

Destiny Murtaugh

This was so fun! Thank you for this. After the way, the comments were going when you watch the eras tour, I was worried you might not have fun with this next album. I’m so glad that you did! Especially because it made it more fun to watch it with you!

Nicole Orozco

The way I cackled when you got to the Charlie Puth line 😂 I love Taylor and the album has grown on me but I love seeing your reactions

Laura Johnson

Sorry this has nothing to do about this reaction lol. But! Do you plan on doing more Lana & Florence album reaction? I think you’d love those journeys!

Aaron Betancourt

can we talk about how Florence literally served as she always has and will

markito

was definitely a grower album for me, at first listen i was like 'urgh more jack midnights esque synth pop' (was cool the first time but since we have midnights, 1989 vault and now ttpd it was getting a bit tiring hearing similar sounds over and over again) but it has grown MASSIVELY on me. initial reaction was like a 4 or 5/10 now its probably a 7.5/10. fave tracks are florida!!!, my boy only breaks his favourite toys and so long, london. skips are the alchemy and the manuscript. i do hope, though, that the next album is an extreme genre change with some new producers.

jade

Honestly I really liked this album, but the anthology solidified it for me. Anthology gets much more into folklore / evermore vibes and I think you’ll really like it.

Genevieve Wisdom

the first listen through was honestly though and the first like half of the album all sounded the same, like one long song, but the more i listen to it it is definitely a grower of an album and i am starting to love it so much!

jenna

The "good boy" part omg I CRIED laughing 😂

Alyssa Oman

What would that have to do with a winning streak though? She says that he’s joking the winning streak is because of “heroin with an e”, meaning heroine, which one would assume meant her.

Kw1794

A lot of people feel the way you do. It’s for sure gonna be a grower album. I loved it but I understand some of the points you made. My favorite was The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived but I’m teetering between that and Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me? My current top 5 (and 6): 1. The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived 2. Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me? 3. I Can Do It With a Broken Heart 4. Florida!!! 5. The Manuscript Bonus 6. thanK you aIMee

Mikala B

I honestly cried the entire first listening. It’s an instant love for me.

Emily

This! The prologue really sets the tone for her state of mind during this time. Even ending Midnights with “is it you or have they come to take me away?” And starting TTPD with “I was supposed to be sent away but they forgot to come and get me.”

Laura

Super random but I cannot take the title track seriously because my work manager’s name is Patty Smith so it just makes me laugh and takes me completely out of the song 😂

Mollee Ruth

I love this record top to bottom in its full scope, with maybe 2 or 3 songs I *might* skip (including the 1st track) but even those are growing on me, especially after the music video. This album is lyrically dense so I think if the sound is more your focus it won’t be your favorite and that’s fine, though I personally also really enjoy the sound. I loved Midnights as well and this very much feels like the lovechild of Midnights and Folklevermore. That being said, it’s tricky as a reaction because I don’t think you get full scope on 1st listen. Either way, I do think Anthology tracks may be more to Troy’s taste & that of the Folklore devotees.

Ash W

Reading the prologue was important 😅 she straight up called this era temporary insanity, it makes it easier to forgive the delusion in some of the songs 😂

Alyssa Oman

the thing is that she didn’t want to leave them in the vault, this album was about needing to get things out. i don’t think she cares if people think it’s too much bc it’s not about that

Taylor F

As a swiftie since debut it literally feels like she’s gotten to a place that her label has given her COMPLETE freedom and that’s almost a bad thing? Like 31 songs is SO many and a lot of those should have been left in the vault ngl

Kelli

It’s the “Why is everyone crying?” for me 😂😂😂

LiaReign

10 mins :)

Leah ✨

Update: I’ve come back to your reaction to listen again, I thought people who said it was a grower were only trying to find something to salvage (I truly am not trying to be rude, this is my first new release from her, I’m sorry!). But I truly feel it now. I was so overwhelmed when everything was released. I listened to the songs one after the other instead of giving myself time to focus on each one. There a lot more that I like than I thought! Haven’t done second listen of the anthology, but I’m excited to see your reaction regardless of if you vibe with it or not ( though hopefully you do!😊).

Nickole

“Damn girl this is a sad ass album” 😂 yeah. - god that listen to Clara Bow was 🔪 🩸 😭

I’m beginning to think she’s treating this like performance art - we’re supposed to feel bored and exhausted and intrigued and exhausted 😝

Lesetoiles

The day Troy walks in to Electric Lady and destroys that arpeggiator 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Lesetoiles

I’m glad you think so because I feel weirdly protective over this album lol I think it’s because it feels like an album for all the older swifties who have experienced the hardships of life and love, especially when it comes to giving up most of your “good” years/youth to a relationship with nothing to show for it (both joe & matty, in a way) I just feel like it’s some of her most relatable work. It’s raw and honest and petty and at times too on the nose in that it feels like diary entries and stuff we shouldn’t know. I totally get the criticism that some songs blend together but I feel this isn’t an album you’re meant to binge, it’s an album that’s meant to simmer and digest each piece before moving on. She’s weaving a story here for all of us so she can close this chapter of her life and move on. It’s not a new era, it’s the ending of all the previous ones.

Finley Rios

Always love your reviews Troy! As for my opinion on the album, I saw a comment on tiktok that reflects perfectly what am i thinking : Lyrics : overwhelming sonically: underwhelming i was exhausted by the end of the album. For me, the majority of the songs sound the same. I feel bored listening to this. I hope it will grow on me, but for now, i will listen to her past albums.

KatherinePoulin

STUART LITTLE??? hdkzjdjdj

Camille B

this. like. this is so perfect ♥️

Holly Robertson

I’m a hard core swiftie but this album didn’t blow me away. It’s definitely a grower, but even after a few listens it feels a bit repetitive. I know she’s prolific in her work, but honestly this needed editing. Some gems but they get a bit lost in the pacing?

Pc_ Cathy

first listen for me was also very much i didn’t think i was going to come back to the songs. anthology tracks almost seem like a different album to me. but also subsequent listens where i’m digesting the lyrics with the songs i’m loving it more and more.

Holly Robertson

I oftentimes think about the Long Pond Studio Session when Taylor said her songs aren’t necessarily only about one topic but can deal with many things simultaneously - some songs on TTPD gave me the same vibes Love your reactions so much btw - they help me to sort through how I feel about certain songs and albums and why I do <3

Lydia

Also PLEASE read the prologue, it helps immensely in understanding the album.

Aly Barrington

I felt similar about the first listen to the album. Like I wasn't blown away (except for a few songs). It feels like this album was truly for the diehard fans that know all the lore and have been around for her entire career. The subsequent listens have made me even more of a fan. I still don't LOVE a few songs but honestly the only track I consistently am skipping is the title track. I do feel the Anthology tracks are better, but I felt similarly about some of the 3am Midnights tracks too.

Jenni

I think I shared your reaction first listen - the anthology album is significantly better and I think it’s important I think to take this for what she clearly meant it to be: a tell all kiss off I don’t give a *isht anymore and I’m not trying to - this is everything I have to say and how the book is closed - the end.

Lesetoiles

“Fuck you if i can’t have us, fuck it I was in love” - that’s it. She said it. May have been a rebound but she was IN IT.

Lesetoiles

It's a great album. Grower for sure, after another listen it's amazing... The second half though is incredible

Ben Marples

My first time subscribed and getting your reaction after my first listen and I’m loving it. I find it so interesting because you pick up on production moments I would never normally hear. It’s not taking my top spot for her albums but I think its beauty is in its focus on not trying to make a radio song, it may move into my top 5, need another few listens first.

Sophie Davies

The more I listen to the album the more it's growing on me. Excited to see you cover the second half!

Rebekah Bennett-Neild

Unfortunately I think some of the weakest songs across all 31 are some of the first on the album which makes it a very slow start. Frustratingly some of the most stunning are in the Anthology which means many people won't get to that point. On second listen, gems emerge as the songs start to distinguish more from each other whereas on initial listen the production risks them blending together a little. I think this will be a grower album for a lot of people (certainly me). Great review as always!

Lisa

I’m not surprised this album is taking longer to digest with people than others considering it has lore that spans over 10 years. but after reading the prologue and epilogue, it’s very clear these past few years have been very tumultuous for her, and especially her relationships with Joe and matty (considering she describes it as a manic phase and self harm). I think it’s an album you need context for, like the fact that matty was clearly always her “what if” guy that she felt they had a very deep connection and that the relationship with joe was 6 years but very up and down with her basically begging and hoping for a solid future but never getting that because he seemed emotionally checked out, which she’s been telling us for quite a few albums when you look at past songs about him. like imagine desperately holding onto someone who is one foot out the door for many years and then getting into a relationship soon after with the person you always thought about in the back of your mind and them love bombing you until you believe it when you’re vulnerable and then ghosting you and starting to publicly date a 24 year old insta model. We’re just experiencing her mind working through two high emotion situations. I feel like the anthology makes the album complete and cohesive. It’s beautiful.

Finley Rios

they're almost all about Ratty

Ellie Pritchard

I love that Troy is so Matty coded that he didn't realize half these songs are about her 6 year relationship w Joe 😂😂 dude, you silly goose, why would she be singing the heartbreak songs about her fling w Matty lmao?!

bits

I haven’t watched yet but read the description and it’s very thoughtful. Personally my biggest problem with the album upon the first few listens was the production

Mackenzie White

Steroids and heroin having nothing to do with each other. I think she’s saying the last one was addicted to heroin this ones addicted to heroine to be fully honest but someone else said it either Travis or I saw someone say Jason

Hannah Gray

Troy!!!!! I agree on your take with the album but you must know that Taylor and matty dated when they were young and stayed friends for years. That’s why their short relationship seemed like such a heartbreak. They finally got together after years and he love bombed her and then peaced out. Just gives more context to some of the songs!

Ali Fauteux

This album resonated with me so much because I had a "Matty." Unfortunately, he lost his battle with alcoholism last month. I was literally in a 6-year relationship, broke up with that guy for my "Matty," and it ended up being much shorter lived and so hurtful towards the end, but one million times more fulfilling and magical during the good times. Everything was heightened. A true twin flame. The love was more, the hurt was more. I've only listened to "Loml" twice, including your reaction, because it's too real for me at this moment, and I probably won't revisit it for a while. I think Guilty as Sin was about her thinking about and wanting Matty while she was with Joe. My interpretation (I might be projecting) is that she's not measuring their relationship into the few months it was tangible, but reminiscing on all of the time and emotional effort spent thinking about him when they weren't together and wondering, "What if?" and taking his flirtyness or comments about how much he loves her to heart to only then be hurt and let down. I wonder if the raw/repetitive production of the album is an homage to her older songs and letting us live out those stories once more before the manuscript is considered complete. Like she's telling us, "Ya'll, this is the last time we're gonna talk about it, k?"

Alyssa

“Can you say thumbnail?” I’m dead 😂

Sam Rodriguez

I absolutely loved the stream, even though you didn't love the album. I still enjoy hearing your takes and obviously I already knew that this album was not going to be everyone's favorite, because the first listen can appear monotone. After the second listen I was hooked and I really loved the songwriting on this one. Even more than on other albums because it felt more honest and vulnerable. She just didn't give a f**k anymore... For me the lyrics and poetry behind Taylor's songs are what made me a fan in the first place and I think that's what TTPD is all about. There were definitely songs where I immediately had to cry like "loml" or "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived". Even though there are a bit more skips than usual on this one for me, I still loved the album as a whole and the entire aesthetic it brings. Especially since I think that Taylor definitely emphasized the lyrics and poetry more on this one than having a crazy production. For me, Aaron's songs are definitely sticking out, especially in "The Anthology". Thank you so much for sharing your honest opinion, while still being respectful towards the artists. I love watching your streams and can't wait for you to hear the second part, which has some of my favorite songs!

Valerie Strohdorfer

The stuff with Matty is angrier because they were flirty but just friends for years, but never crossed the line to actually dating and when they finally did it’s like we threw away all those years of friendship for this?

Michele Segroves

Im not sure how much I like the album as of now, but I think I just need time to digest it. However, I do heavily lean towards the second part of the album, The Anthology. The production in The Anthology just feels a lot more like folklore/evermore, which in my opinion are the strongest TS albums. Anyways, I would probably give it a 3/5 as of now. My faves are Fortnight, Down Bad, and I Can Do It With A Broken Heart from the first half.

Ella

Maybe a little less 🤯 than I wanted but so much good stuff here. The 2nd half is more for the Folkmore/Evermore fans and on first listens it was my favorite. On re-listens, so many of my favs of on the first half too!

Tiffany Erdall

I REALLY wait for your reactions on Taylor, it's great to see it! Read the prologue before next video, think this album is more about telling her fans this is how I feel, this is what I've been through... let me explain kinda thing.

Pamela Motta

Definitely my favorite album from her. It feels so raw and real and vulnerable! And who doesn't love a bit of unhinged Taylor?!

Kaitlin Hays

After a few more listens I’m sure it will grow on you! Folklore and evermore took me a few listens and now they are my favorite two albums ever.

Jenny Allender

same! i did NOT like the title track unfortunately 🥲

Emily Gonzalez

The D20 reference was hilarious. I'm so glad my fave fandoms all crossover.

K.N. Banet

Troy I can’t understand I literally cried the whole album 😭 I think you weren’t in the mood today

Erika Guzman

It scared me so much that he somehow just went to the next song during Guilty as Sin? but thank God NO or he would have missed the beat drop?! His reaction when it came in tho!! AHHAHAHA wonderful

Melissa Alberto

Truthfully there were only two songs that stood out to me on the first half of this album. This album suffers because every song sounds the same, but I guess that's what happens when you're only using one producer and you're only singing about 1 subject matter. Her lyrics weren't really the problem for me, though I do feel like sometimes she just throws out words, just to say that she put them in a song. As someone who loves a good break up track and even a breakup album, I wish she had went the Sour route and switched up the genres and vibes of each song. I was also waiting for a ballad to really sell this album for me, but I don't believe Taylor has the vocal range.

Sadiebunny

Someone in the chat said "Thank god she's a poet and not a serial killer!" and I don't think I am ever going to stop laughing!!!!! :'D

Amber Ladd

This is how I found out Troy watches Dimension 20

Michele Segroves

This. I loved it all immediately, it’s by far her most intimate and mature lyricism, but I think the intensity of it can kind of throw you for a loop. There are so many fourth wall breaks and deep introspections on fame hidden in what was expected to be a break up album. They are initially disorienting but ultimately genius, imo.

Syd

The way I sobbed on loml is not quite of this world, this is TAYLOR SWIFT.

David Rico

I didn’t like it at first. I’ll admit the 2nd time i felt a little better about it. And now we’re on listen number 11. And i adore it. It’s so different but i appreciate it for everything it is💜💜

Diego Borja

This is aaaaabsolutely my favorite album. I’m over crying my eyes out and alll I want to do is vibe to this.

Jacqueline DeCross

Bro with 31 songs you can just build your own Taylor Swift album from it based on what you vibed with

Reagan Brown

Down bad line I lost my twin 😅

Carey Grace

lucy dacus from boygenius, he talked to her at the eras tour and she insulted him on twitter afterward 💀

Anna Sofie

Why? That sound is incredibly popular and I’ve been hard pressed to figure out what the issue is people have with it. It’s a soft retro new wavey vibe that I think complements her voice and her lyrics. I don’t think I’ve ever had a real issue with Jack specific production, so I guess I just cannot grasp why so many people just hate it

Caroline Vitanza

Yes! And I love this we have all grown and evolved through so many genres at this point. I’m just like ok TS what’s the vibe? I might not understand at first but I will get there girl! I will get on your level lol

Meagan Bagley

when i think Lucy i think LSD (the drug) but ive seen some people say its about Lucy from boygenius

Emilia Gøtterup

YES! It’s SO personal, somehow more personal feeling than all her other albums lolll

James we met in Japan and I am now with red babe

Can someone explain the Lucy line to me. I don't know enough about Matty to understand it lol

Danielle Burruss

I just enjoy so much the way you talk about music and pull out chords and instruments and production choices. I learn so much each time!!

Kim

Chat was getting on my last nerve today 😤 Also 100% called which songs you were going to vibe with. Also when you said “it doesn’t feel like I should be hearing some of this” it helped me realize why I didn’t vibe with the album. Besides some of the production choices, I was really just like OOOF the whole time. Like gut punches. Anyway, I’ve listened many times now and I think it’s great. Can’t wait for pt 2 🫶🏻

Kim

i appreciate your honesty, i think it’s a grower! the more i listen the more i find moments i like

Emma

The intro tells me you've been enjoying D20 - when are you gonna DM 😂

Carey Grace

I genuinely thought I was being punk’d when listening to the title track

Marli Kauffman

I agree the first few songs are the weakest on the album - they just felt like they didn't live up to their potential. Otherwise I'm really enjoying it (both the OG and the anthology). I think Taylor wrote this album for herself and finally laid it all out without concern about having big radio hits or sanitizing her content for younger audiences. It's for an older audience who have more life under their belt and understand that you don't stop being messy and imperfect and getting fucked over by people just because you're over the age of 30. I saw someone say that she needed the safety net of Jack and Aaron to process and so I think the risk she took with TTPD was more about the lyrics and the "fuck it" attitude re: popularity than with the sound and I can respect that. I also think it's unfair to expect Taylor to really switch up her sound a lot from album to album just because she has done so in the past but I understand as a musician/producer why that's what you would gravitate to! I also think after you read the prologue it will help you put the album in context so definitely recommend finding that before part 2. Overall I enjoyed this reaction with you and look forward to the second half.

Lindsay

i understand that lmao that’s the joke, like she’s an addictive woman. she’s not making a dig at drug use 😭

Emma

Heroin is a drug…heroine is a female hero…

Meg

people are misunderstanding the heroin line it’s saying that she’s addictive like a drug … like heroine

Emma

PLEASE review more F+TM 🥺

g

I think you REALLY need to read the prologue and her Instagram post about the album because it truly explains so much of her thought process and her basically pleading insanity

A2313

At first I wasn’t sure about the album but then I listened to it a couple more and I love it!

Cayla

But where'd you get your shirt?!

Jennifer Cortez

The outro of Clara Bow "You look like Taylor Swift in this light. We're loving it. You've got edge, she never did" just reminds me of Invisible String "Bold was the waitress on our three-year trip getting lunch down by the lakes. She said I looked like an American singer"

Faith B

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Skylur Rios

Definitely feel like this is an album you need to listen to over and over to really get into it. There’s some obvious hit songs but due to sheer amount songs and subject matter it’s going to need to marinate.

Marisa

I’m in love with this whole album

Kelsey Lee

lol Troy: idk guys I'm not crying or moving and grooving also Troy: *cries* *moves and grooves*

Megan

I saw someone on tik tok say that Taylor’s lyrics makes the personal feel communal and that’s so true with this one

Sydney

Watching this after listening myself, made me like this sooo much better. I think i just had to listen to it w.o being surprised of the vibe of it

AnnMarie

I was the same with Reputation now it’s always in my top 3 albums and it’s a no skip album! Like it was just soooo different than what she had done in the past and LWYMMD imo is still one of the songs I don’t love and I was like oh no this how this album is gonna go?! But now I love the album! I hated when Shake It Off came out and it’s still one of the songs I hate to this day just cause it’s soooo glittery pop lol and was just soooo overplayed and thought 1989 was gonna be like that too but now 1989 is the pop bible and I love it as a whole. So I think sometimes her lead singles give me PTSD for how I’m gonna feel about an album lol and she hasn’t done single before the album drop since Lover

Ashley Castilleja

every time you brought up ACOC i knew I was in for a banger joke or a depressing thought and was not disappointed 🫡🫡 thank you for your service troy, the few of us in the Taylor Swift D20 venn diagram deeply appreciate you

Soul

At first I was like, "oh they just haven't left yet, but I'm sure they'll filter out," but I was still seeing those comments consistently multiple hours in! Like, do you have nothing better to do on a Friday afternoon?? Geez 😂

Aly Barrington

The heroin versus heroine part is Travis, joking that it’s heroin, but with an E meaning, it’s her the heroine that’s got them on a winning streak like she’s a good luck charm. I’m assuming that was her way of saying it’s not steroids that let them win. It was her being their good luck charm.

Kw1794

Has anyone explained to Troy that the setting for this album is the psych ward bc I feel like that would have been helpful going into this lmao. Also highly recommend a little puff puff pass for listening to this record

Meg

Ahhh agree. I didn’t pay attention to all of the chat and it can be distracting sometimes. Especially when people are fighting about who a song is about….i didn’t see the trash comments. I agree that’s just a bunch of trolls sticking around for no good reason 💜

Tina Lingen

I think you’re missing that Maddie and Taylor had a history before Joe and so this was like years in the making

Christopher Davis

This entire album feels like diary entries from Taylor because they are so personal, and you’ll see more of that on the anthology. It really felt like she gave us everything she had written recently and that is incredible as a fan and listener. Can’t wait to see you reaction to the anthology, personally I think it’s the better half!

Nadia Bandy

I'm not talking about the people saying things like "wasn't a fan of this song," "this one's a pass," etc, I'm talking about the many, many comments I saw in there saying "boring album," "trash," "mid," etc. Constructive and objective criticism is one thing, but hanging out in a chat when you're literally only interested in shitting on the album being listened to is just troll level behavior.

Aly Barrington

All respect to Jack Antonoff. He has made some great songs and the songs on this album are still great… but we really need to move on from the Midnights-y production.

Blake

This album DEFINITELY grew on me. At first, I wasn’t entirely sold, but on the second listen being able to read the lyrics while listening added SO MUCH to the experience. This album is definitely one where you have to focus on the lyrics to appreciate it! I also think this album is catered towards swifties who have more lore knowledge to really understand what’s being said.

Audrey M

People sharing their opinion I don’t think was trashing an album. I didn’t like all the songs. But I like Taylor and that’s why I stuck around. It picked up in the second half for me. This was my second listen. If music was all the same and everyone had the same opinion about every piece of art..why would we even listen or create art? Not hating on your opinion or thoughts..just another way of looking at it. 💜

Tina Lingen

Interesting to hear your take on this album. Your reaction was actually a lot more positive then the description made it out to be. I think if you go back and and listen to them again you'll be like "oh I actually liked most of these" haha.

Mary Ellis Thornton

Honestly I’m listening to it more and a lot of songs are growing on me. Still not my fave album..and that’s ok. I applaud Taylor for the massive guts to release a double album and remaining vulnerable even if it isn’t my cup of tea. But I DO LOVE SOME OF THE TEA SHE IS SPILLING on these tracks lol.

Tina Lingen

oh i really like it!!! i was talking about other people haha like i feel like people that didn’t even like her were trashing it before it came out

Emma

i honestly loved the album so much! it's so different and i think it will creep into my top 5 taylor albums after a few listens. it's sooo different but it's kinda what i was expecting in a good way? there's so many mixed emotions about this album but it made me feel warm inside and lowkey understood as a person which may be problematic hahaha

Sarah Forristall

Thank you for your always fun and authentic reactions, you are appreciated! A little note for context: I believe Taylor and Matty had history in 2014 and I think the Charlie Puth lyric is to give us the setting of that song and make us aware it’s in the past. That’s why some of the songs about Matty seem dramatic (and they are) but it’s not just about the most recent brief relationship we saw during the Eras tour. Thank you again for putting in the effort you do into your reactions! 💚

Emily Smith

loving the taylor swift merch king

Hattie

considering how heartbreaking this album is I don’t think I’ve ever laughed as hard at a reaction 🤣 Troy you’re too funny bro

CaitRose

i will say that i didnt think troy would like the og as much because it can be a bit hit and miss and some of taylors choices didnt vibe as much, however the antholog is very haunting and evermore-esque and i think troy will hopefully enjoy it more but 31 songs is a lot to digest and i enjoy waching whether we agree or not so keep it up troy!

Emma Fitzpatrick

Haha yes..while I LOVE folklore and midnights which I know midnights isn’t everyone’s fave! You got this! And we get his reaction to the anthology tomorrow and I have a feeling it’s going to be a better day! Hang in there lol ✌️💜

Tina Lingen

His reaction to but daddy I love him was priceless lmao

Emily Micallef

wow he's right - down bad absolutely sounds like novocaine by the band camino! novocaine is such an incredible song

Marissa Key

TROY!!! are you watching FHJY???

Madison Zumwalt

I have laughed more at this video than any of your other videos. I laughed until I cried quite a few times 😂 Thank you SO much for always being honest and keeping a bond with us through music! I love how we all can have differing opinions and still come together to laugh 🥲

Katheryne

Emma

I was so focused earlier on the words I was like wait… does it sound like we’re in space. I didn’t even notice 😂😂😂

Meagan Bagley

Chat was pretty awful on this one, unfortunately. Why stick around if you're not enjoying the album? I'll never understand the need to try to make everyone else miserable just because you personally don't get an album.

Aly Barrington

I think you’re gonna like the anthology much more! Most is produced by Aaron and it’s definitely more spooky and folklore esque in my opinion

Taylor Little

It’s def a grower. The more I sit with the lyrics, the less I care about production. She said she NEEDED to write this album and I felt like she said everything she’s ever wanted to say and I like that. I had to let folklore grow on me a little I could never blind react to things bc it’s so hard to tell after just one listen! I’m always like ask me in a few weeks and I’ll let u know what I think 😂😂

Meagan Bagley

hthaze i just want u to know to please don’t be scared to say your true opinion because of the scary fans i love ur reviews and in all honestly did not like the album at all! the second album had some good parts but overall it was so mid and i hate how i cant even say that without being attacked

Lena EL-Merhebe

Critics will say this album needed further editing. That it was too specific and too revealing without enough self-reflection. I believe that was the point. She spilt it all out on the paper. All of that said, the deluxe songs much be assessed in their own right, imo.

Krystle Berger

I feel like this is a fairly common Swiftie experience - I absolutely hated Rep the first time I heard it, which…I can’t even imagine how, now?!

Elizabeth Cadorette

I think the constant “no-pay off” of a lot of the songs is the lack of actual payoff in the relationship and the repetitive production is a representation of the persistent anxiety she experienced as a result of being with him. Plus the added element of this being a psych ward not an English department adds this manic energy that she’s being admitted for

Rae Hundley

the thing that i like and also originally disliked was that it feels like reading someone’s diary. like just the messy repetitive thoughts, not cleaned up like her normal music

niki garvin

The production just wasnt it for me. And felt like the sang the same way for literally the every song. It kills me bc i feel like its THERE but not executed the best way it could have been. I think this was made for her, and only her. Its personal and thats amazing she trusted it with us, which i appreciate.

AnnMarie

ABOUT THE HEROIN LINE!!!! it’s supposed to be heroine because she’s his heroine 🤍🤍🤍🤍 it’s definitely not a dig at mattys struggle!!!!!

Josie Miller

for me the song TTPD was the biggest miss and having it at the 2 song spot kinda messed with the flow in my opinion

Julie Keim

i think with the first half i was in shock and it was kind of underwhelming but the second half i was able to comprehend more and it was a lot better!!

Jasmine Harrison

This is what’s happening to me. I am listening again and it’s like I’m doing so for the first time but more awake, and I am liking it more😂.

Nickole

Idk how to explain it. I wasn’t crazy about the first half on first listen, but it’s growing on me now. Like, there are songs I don’t like, but the ones that I do, I LOVE. And I do love the anthology as well. Can’t wait to see you react to it and thank you for your honest thoughts on the album!

Nickole

Appreciate you being so honest! Art is meant to be felt whether it’s goo or bad feelings. I love the album and I felt so seen with the feeling of mania. Excited to see you listen to the anthology 🫡

Nyla kotila

this video would’ve been under 2hrs if troy didn’t rewind during the good boy line (so real).

a

But this album might just creep to the top of my favorite Taylor Swift albums list. There’s just something so very special about it that draws me in

Raegan

I felt in a way that the standard album was meant more for the general public and the anthology more for her fans- it’s deeper, and feels very vulnerable to me.

Raegan

Love your taylor vids always! Just wanted to say taylor added “so long, London” to her “acceptance” stage of grief playlist so I think it might be intentional that it’s not meant to make you sad just meant to say it is what it is

Anna

I watched live so before watching again I just wanted to comment that this has personally become my favorite Taylor album in the sense that it feels very raw and very different. It may have some jack synths that feel repetitive but I think her lyricism and other production on the second half that you’re covering tomorrow really help balance the story and the production. The prophecy has actually ruined me lmao as someone who’s never been in a relationship begging when it’s my turn. So, I’m excited to see your opinion tomorrow and as the tracks sit with you more. 🤍

Mads

definitely a grower album and i think it will also grow on you

Ryleigh Stone

I'm taking a listen to the album again and starting to grow on me, last night the first few songs of the album wasn't really catching my attention, the last few songs were pretty good, the second album I really enjoyed

Yasmin Nicole

the crown of candy reference was outta pocket and also made me view the song entirely different

Zachary Brinegar

I'm interested to see how my opinion will change after I listen to the album a couple more times. Fatigue is a great way to put it. It's why I'm happy Troy broke up the reaction. 2 hours of one album is a lot from anybody, haha.

Auburn

BUT DADDY I LOVE HIM STANS RISE UP 🗣️🗣️

Caitlin Gradl

also just to add onto this since i’ve actually started the video, i fear this album is for the full fledged swifties that know all the lore and catch the little details and those are what hit so hard. i don’t think this will be a casual fan album for most people! and that’s okay!

kaley

Also your post makes me feel better about it lol thank you

katlyn rikard

I totally respect that everyone has an opinion. I have a strong one myself. I don’t really love evermore tbh. I have a few songs saved from that album but it’s not my favorite and I get that’s insane for some people 😂 I’m not upset that he doesn’t like it but I love it and I’m still basking in the glow lol. I’m gonna watch it though. He doesn’t like how you get you the girl too.. hurts my feelings but I respect his opinion 😂

katlyn rikard

The album grew on me! I’m first listen I was overwhelmed and underwhelmed. But it picked up after track 5!

Tatiana McAdams

I felt the same exact way as well and hoped I wasn’t the only one. My ears were getting a bit fatigued in the first half especially..my exact thought being that it all sounded the same. I enjoyed the anthology tracks more. I really enjoyed this reaction as it was honest and real and shows we can all love music and don’t have to all agree on what we like and don’t and still be respectful of each other. I appreciate that about Troy’s reactions so much.

Tina Lingen

I’m so excited to watch this. I was only able to watch the first 2 songs on stream!

Caitlyn Heredia

YESSSIRRRRR

SJ Johnson

I listened to the album as it dropped at midnight. I felt the same as you upon first listen..and honestly still do. The opening tracks just feel a bit lazy. I understand this is the music aesthetic she was probably going for..but I just wanted more. Like you I started to enjoy the album halfway through as her voice gained more emotion and actually changed tone. Please don’t come for me fellow ladies and gentlebitches. We don’t all have to like the same things or have the same opinions which is one of the things that makes music great. That said I really enjoyed the anthology(second album) more. I appreciate the more acoustic vibe.less reverb..less lazy production. Are there still some cringe lyrics..yes but that’s what makes Taylor kinda a fun listen. Cheers 💜

Tina Lingen

Abigail here🙋🏻‍♀️

Abbie

I wanted to barf with the Charlie Pluth lyric. But also.....Guilty as Sin should be a single in my opinion. Just saying. After Can Do it With a Broken Heart obviously.

Alex Engstrom

Great album!!

Kevin Hennessy

I’m glad you have and will always be honest about your feelings toward albums, not everything is for everyone. I’m still listening to this album in case it grows on me but I’m still a folklore girly

MICHELLE MOBLEY

I felt like these songs were written by chat gpt

Colby Lowe

I really appreciate your honest review and reaction! I think you’ll like the 2am album way better

leah hoffman

I don’t think he shit on it and honestly there’s other people that feel the way he does as well. He stated he really liked some parts. I also did. Is it my favorite Taylor album ever? No but I would echo Troy’s opinion it has some fun parts, some songs I really enjoyed. Give it a watch! I promise he doesn’t completely hate on it! He’s still his authentic self and it’s still a ton of fun regardless of how you feel about the album. ..remember we all don’t have to like the same things…just like I respect that you really really loved the album 💜..that’s what makes music great! There’s something for everyone or music would all sound the same. Just my two cents..meant with love . Not hating on your opinion of the album at all.

Tina Lingen

The longer I sit with the album the more I absolutely adore it

Sarah S

So, I loved this album, but it’s very painful to listen to. Because she was going through some kind of mental breakdown when she wrote it, and it’s a sort of purging of the mania. It’s chaotic and frantic and low-key unhinged. I just feel like she sounds so broken 💜

Maisie Myers

Thank you SO MUCH for not making us wait for this!!!!!

Amanda Kerbrat

I AM SAT

CaitRose

I wanna watch this but now that I know you don’t like it I’m scared. I actually really love this album. It’s so vulnerable and raw. It’s like you feel every emotion she felt. I don’t want it to be shit on 😭😭

katlyn rikard

i love how unfiltered, overstuffed, hyperbolic and (sometimes) cringy the lyricism is with this album - it really gave us the manic episode she alluded to in the prologue. I think I might be in the minority but I loved almost every song on the album immediately. I’m looking forward to watching your reaction! edit: I’m guessing you don’t feel the same but just hang on for the anthology 🙏🙏 if possible, I loved those songs even more and in large part due to Aaron

LV

I’ve listened maybe 7 or 8 times and each time a new song jumps out at me . In a tired haze from 12-3am I couldn’t take it all in haha

Jillian Stamatelos

I’d love to hear you go through Florence’s albums!!

S. L.

WHAT ARE WE ON

Katelyn Lail

I BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE! TURN IT UPPP

Sydney Anderson

i understand what you’re saying about the subtle ness, but the backing is supposed to be subtle because it’s supposed to be more like poetry, since it’s POETS department

Josie Miller

there were a few i loved, but the rest i haven’t warmed up to yet, or maybe won’t at all idk. and that’s okay! i will say i enjoyed the anthology songs more! something i felt as i was listening was i feel like this album was written by taylor, and for taylor. thank you always for your honest reactions. <3

Alexis Islas

It felt nice to listen with you, especially when I wasn't feeling the first half of the album. You put it well. Some songs are shallow and some songs are a little too similar to other ones. I thought I was losing it. However, the songs that I like are SO GOOD for me and will add to playlists. It's always fun to jam with you, Troy! Thank you for your hard work!!

Auburn

The production was boring and tired. Her singing/talking in pretty much the same key just made this album feel like a long, run-on sentence too :|

Erica

i cannot wait for your opinions on the production since i feel like all anybody is going to talk about is the lyrics (for fair reason)

nick smith!

I’m glad you decided to break it up and do The Anthology separately. I think it definitely deserves its own listen. ❤️

Katie Leagans

ITS BEEN A LONG TIME COMING BUT

Mallory

You're a real one for getting this posted so quick 👌🏼👌🏼

Momo

definitely!!! Folklore was that for me

Emma :D

Kaaaaale yeah! Couldn’t make the live stream today, so glad this is up!!

James Pullara

i feel you might enjoy the anthology more! i also wasn’t crazy about the first half, but the second is giving folkmore! also, thank you for posting this the same day, you’re literally an angel. and thank you for continuing to do taylor content despite the way some people can behave 🤍 we appreciate it

kaley

Bring tissues everyone. We’re about to float down a river of tears and mucus. 😩

Hannah

Art is meant to be experienced!!!! Thankful you share your experience of it with us.

Kelsey Petersen

Excited to see your thoughts ❤️

Andrea

I appreciate your honest thoughts on Taylor’s work (and everyone else’s) every time! I love reactions from the Swiftie accounts (like Ally or the Chats & Reacts girls), but your honest, unbiased reaction is something I truly look forward to every time!

Molly J

THE WAY I INSTANTLY CAME HERE WHEN IT DROPPED

Laisha Villanueva

Josie Miller

Idk I wasn’t a fan of it 😐

Erica

YAY!!

ItsJustEnA

i did not like this album at all, although i will say the anthology is far better at capturing the singer songwriter feel i was craving from her, kind of reminiscent of folklore and evermore, with the production being more focused on aaron dessner

José Moura

OMGGG

Charm Rivera
