My take on the I wish you would lyric "Crooked love in a straight line down" : to me it's very queer. Being a not straight "line" in a straight heteronormative world. Again, not speculating on her sexuality, but 1989 is super special to me because it has these very loud queer lyrics and themes. "Boys and boys and girls and girls" "too in love to think straight", it was so important for the baby gay I was at the time! That's my interpretation of it anyway. Can't wait to relive it all this Friday 🩵
