2023-09-19 03:13:35 +0000 UTCokay i’m a boy group kpop stan which is horrid i know BUT stray kids are my all time favorite group and on the topic of them producing— yes. they do. typically in kpop a company picks members out and forms the group themselves and writes the music for them, much in the way bands like One Direction were formed. with stray kids however, the group was formed when the company allowed 20 year old Chan (orange hair at the VMAs) pick his own team. they had a survival type show that documented their journey to debuting. the first task was to write a song and produce it entirely on their own. this was when they were still trainees and were 15-20 years old. the song was titled Hellevator and was about how they were in hell but they would ride the elevator up from it. three members in the group participate in writing every single song they release. lyrics are done almost exclusively by members if not purely exclusively by them and the backing tracks and music are also done entirely by them. the company producers come in during recording time for the final track— so basically stray kids (specifically Bang Chan, Changbin and Han) make the demo tracks all themselves and then they will work with a company producer on finalizing it and polishing it up. but they’ve all made tracks on live streams and shown the whole process of recording and creating so if the kpop industry were to crumble, stray kids WOULD be able to continue putting out music that sounds the same as it does now. is it everyone’s cup of tea? absolutely not— i hated them at first. now they are my number one artist. but regardless of if you like the music or not, theyre the only kpop group (that i can think of) that could be completely self sufficient and has always pushed the boundaries and have never been afraid to experiment and have never tried to be cookie cutter or make something just so people would like it. i think their dedication to making things they like and not things you’ll like is really cool especially with how manufactured kpop is :)

Which makes me so sad I was really excited for Demi and Olivia but the audio was not the best. The crowd reactions were the best part of the whole night

It’s like you got into this hyper negative groove and thought it was funny but honestly it just came off as not fun to watch for 2hrs, especially pausing every couple seconds just to complain more. I think most watch your stuff for the good vibes, dancing, emotional content, and positive vibes. This was just not it my dude. 85% Bad vibes.
