November Non-Changes
Added 2024-10-31 00:34:54 +0000 UTCSo i'm hearing that November 1st is when Patreon forces every creator off from their monthly subscription setup into their regular pay based on the date you subscribed.
And they're doing this because of Apple forcing their hand wanting a 30% cut from Patreon transactions through their ios app store.
First of all. Android superiority!
But second of all, I don't support Apple dictating how people earn their money who aren't even affiliated with them. I'm used to the monthly payment and it's helped organize how to handle the next month. I know not much changes when that goes, but the 30% cut through their app store when you can go on Safari and do it through the regular website or from your pc to avoid that?
Rude. Adding a middle man for greed.
So I took the option to delay the changes by 1 year and hope they come up with something better.

I've been thinking about the whole subscription date thing too. I'm so used to what it is now and it being very consistent. There is no going back once it changes. So I'm just not sure of it at this time as to how the data would change. All the good changes made this year was by comparing the months. Hm... But yeah, the apple thing is stupid.

2024-10-31 17:11:53 +0000 UTCPersonally I'm more of a fan of getting my full money's worth from the date i payed rather than it needing to be at the start of the month. That said apple forcing it on something that isn't exclusive to their platform is pretty dumb.
