Go to SizeCon 2020?
Added 2019-09-18 06:06:10 +0000 UTCAfter dealing with a bunch of irl stuff recently this weekend, I've thought about this a bit.
So Sizecon is coming up in February and I thought it'd be best to bring it up with you guys on if I should go.
There's a bunch of people to meet and greet, but it'd be a bit expensive to go from California to New York and definitely stay throughout the weekend. (Although I'm very careful with saving up money. I do love New York too)
The big question is if it'd be super worth going?
I mean, it's a rare thing that is always unsure if there will be another in the next year.
Gah! I'm talking myself into it the more I talk about it, but it's an expensive trip and I wanted to ask you guys first.

That's in New York?! I'm based out of Philadelphia so I may go for shits and giggles.

2019-09-19 19:54:39 +0000 UTCI wish I had gone when it started. I was living just a couple hours away and could have driven. Now I live in Virginia and that makes the trip way harder. I've seen that people have a lot of fun with it and it would be fun to put faces to usernames, however I'm not a huge people person so I tend to shy away from things like this.

2019-09-18 09:25:23 +0000 UTCI guess the biggest factor is that gamble. Cons are great for finding artists. But then setting up a booth and travel expenses can take you out $1000 easy. Then again, I worked with a startup company previously. It's just me now. Probably way cheaper.

2019-09-18 09:17:00 +0000 UTCIt's an awesome opportunity for networking and meeting people. I wouldn't say it'll be a waste of money considering what you're doing now has been helping you survive to begin with. Why not up your chances by taking the chance?

2019-09-18 09:15:15 +0000 UTCYeah, it's not a HUGE convention, I hear. Kinda like a small one where dedicated people go to it. I mean. I guess I'm dedicated just a little bit.

2019-09-18 09:04:54 +0000 UTCWoah. This is actually a thing? I had no idea the size fascination genre was so big (no pun intended) that it has a convention. Damn, it's such a weird but nice feeling to know that I am far from being the only one like this. On the side note, I won't be able to go regardless. I'm all the way here in Australia after all. Have fun if you are going. 😁
