Composing for Bowsette

I'll put the full score from the video up here if it comes out pretty good.

I'm at a point where Bowsette will definitely be done this week and DDLC next month if destruction goes as well as I think it will. (After having hell with it, naturally)

Then I'm taking the Marin video in the stepped animation direction for the first time. So i'm super excited for all these things!

Stepped animation is just not easy to implement in 3d space.
I've been trying a slew of different ideas and haven't really gotten one to stick.
Maybe I should follow a tutorial exactly to the point?

Destruction is not about making big crunchy objects. Turns out it's all about making the bricks by bricks and all the small details. I thought too big and that's why I failed.

Destruction is definitely looking plausible. I gotta spend a ton of today writing down the process of what works. Next objective is to try and copy the buildings and place the destructive stuff inside. Then when the building hits, cut out parts of the mmd model as if it got hit. Hopefully it looks great rather than having to completely learn building stuff myself.

The destruction in Blender is ok, but it's clearly too performance heavy. I've gotta figure this out in UE4 and get it right. I know character physics for animation are damn well gonna be in Blender, so maybe destruction is damn well gonna be in UE4.

Jesus, these destruction-based requests for Yuri are nuts! I need to learn destruction now or I'll never be able to appease this!

Despite it being rough animation and requiring lots of clean up, this is being animated pretty damn fast to me.

It's gonna be a nice long snippet this time. I also need to take lots of screenshots and text for the update scroll. I also need to go over the different learning practices I took. Gonna be a long day with many notes.

I wonder if I'll ever look back at all these and find something. OH! I should put everything I've learned on stepped animation and visuals for those Ryuko practices. Just go right into detail on what I did for all that would be super cool.

So it seems that other creators have the same shadow flicker problem from direct sunlight. They solved it by faking the sunlight hitting their character, but it's actually a personal area light that only hits that character!

Found out almost the reason for Shadow flicker. It's the directional light. has to do with something there.

The shadow fixes are pretty great! I'll have an update soon of all the changes and pics for DDLC

I should also probably get back to testing CityEngine before my month's free trial is over. Or I could use another email and continue it again... I think. Anyways, back of my mind stuff.

Since this video is mostly set up, I can focus only on animating for it now rather than having to build massive ideas for Marin right now.
