The Steregushchiy-class corvette, also known as Project 20380, is a class of multipurpose corvettes designed by the Almaz Central Marine Design Bureau for the Russian Navy. The corvette is intended for littoral zone operations, engaging surface ships, submarines, and airborne targets, either independently or as part of a task force.
General Characteristics:
• Displacement: Approximately 2,200 tons • Length: 104.5 meters (343 feet)
• Beam: 13 meters (42.7 feet) • Draught: 3.7 meters (12.1 feet)
• Speed: Maximum speed of around 27 knots (50 km/h; 31 mph)
• Range: 4,000 nautical miles (7,400 km) at 14 knots (26 km/h; 16 mph)
• Endurance: 15 days • Crew: Approximately 100 personnel
Propulsion:
• Type: Combined Diesel and Diesel (CODAD) • Engines: 4 × 16D49 diesel engines (each rated at 5,200 hp)
• Propellers: Twin screw propellers
Armament:
• Missiles: 1 × 3S24 "Uran" launcher for 8 Kh-35 (SS-N-25 Switchblade) anti-ship missiles 1 × 3S14 vertical launch system for 8 3M54 "Kalibr" or 3M55 "Oniks" cruise missiles (in some upgraded versions)

• Air Defense: 1 × Redut (SA-N-9 Gauntlet) vertical launch system for 12 surface-to-air missiles 2 × Gibka launchers for Igla or Verba man-portable air-defense systems (MANPADS)
• Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW): 2 × 4 330 mm torpedo tubes for Paket-NK anti-submarine/anti-torpedo system 2 × RBU-6000 anti-submarine rocket launchers
Sensors and Electronic Warfare:
• Radar: Furke-2 3D radar for air/surface search Monument-A radar for surface target acquisition Pal-N navigation radar
• Sonar: Zarya-ME sonar suite
• Electronic Warfare (EW): TK-25E-5 ECM suite PK-10 decoy launchers for chaff and IR decoys
Aviation:
• Helicopter: The corvette has a hangar and deck to support one Kamov Ka-27 anti-submarine helicopter or similar types.
Stealth Features:
• The Steregushchiy-class corvettes incorporate stealth technology, with a reduced radar cross-section (RCS), low acoustic signature, and minimized heat and infrared emissions. The superstructure is made of composite materials to absorb and scatter radar waves, and the hull design minimizes the wake to reduce detectability.
Operational Role: The Steregushchiy-class is designed for a variety of roles including anti-surface, anti-submarine, and air defense operations. Its versatility and advanced technology make it suitable for coastal defense, escort missions, and operations in the littoral zones where larger ships might not be as effective. This class represents a significant upgrade over previous Russian corvettes, combining modern sensors, weaponry, and stealth features to create a multipurpose platform suitable for various naval operations.
