The CIC does look vulnerable to battle damage in the labelled drawing.

2021-02-06 12:44:26 +0000 UTCThe 'bridge' for an American submarine is only used while surface transiting because it's in the sail. A free flood area. The control room is in the main part of the sub and the 'Conn' is the very small part around the Periscopes.

2021-02-05 21:13:41 +0000 UTCJive, do you know the thought process of placing the CIC in the superstructure, rather than in a less vulnerable position such as below the waterline? It's going to get shot up, no? We have the bridge up there already. On a submarine, isn't the CIC the main combat portion and the bridge is, like, tiny in comparison?
